Seche makes COLOR!

How are all my "sweet treats" doing this Monday? Today I have some colors from Seche. Yep, they do COLOR!

I know, we all know about the lovely top coat, "Seche Vite", it dries a manicure faster than anything I've used, and I use it on every manicure, but did you know they did COLOR?

Today I have two colors from their "Clever & Confident" Collection. "Versatile" and "Silly Sensible" :)

Seche Nail Lacquer
"Versatile"
2 coats, no top coat

"Versatile" is a dusty teal green creme.

Definitely this teal has more green than blue in it's base. The polish applied smooth and had a very creamy texture. I did have a bit of an issue controlling the brush, so my application was harder along the edges of the nail, but overall the formula wore very well. Dried nicely too, no issues.

Seche Nail Lacquer
"Silly But Sensible"
2 coats, no top coat

"Silly But Sensible" is a lovely burnt orange pumpkin color, so pretty! This color reminds me so much of pumpkin that it make my mouth water, LOL!

Just like the previous, color this applied the same way, smooth and creamy. The brush still gave me issues, but overall I am very impressed with the formula.  This color is not a favorite of mine to wear, but it definitely is the perfect color for fall :)

Overall the colors are great and the formula is easy to apply, but I had issues with the new brush they are using.  The new brush is a bit longer and thus harder to control the strokes on the nail.

You can follow Seche on Facebook for the latest colors in their collections.  The "Clever and Confident Collection" is available nationwide.

China Glaze Autumn Nights Fall 2013, selected swatches.

Happy Fall...yep it is finally starting to feel like fall here in LA! Can you feel it?

Well let's start this season off right with some colors from China Glaze's new collection for Fall 2013, "Autumn Nights". :)

Left to right: "Don't Make Me Wine", "Charmed I'm Sure", and "Queen B".

First Up...

"Don't Make Me Wine"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a gorgeous magenta red.  It applied in two coats, but my bottle was thicker than I expected, and thus application was difficult. After the swatch I thinned it a bit, and made it my new pedicure color, it was much better with the thinner.  This color is very rich and gorgeous in the sunlight, but it's not very original. Hhmmmm...

"Charmed I'm Sure"
3 coats, no top coat

I was fighting a bald spot for this manicure, so I had to apply three coats, however I'm sure that was my fault, and I have no doubts this can be opaque in two coats :)  Gorgeous deep purple creme. Not very unique, but it is very pretty, and applied well. This deep purple creme does not disappoint for fall. :)

"Queen B"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a dusty indigo creme. GORGEOUS, and the name is cute too! This is easily a one coater, but I applied two out of sheer joy at seeing it on my nails *swoon*. It applied very well, no issues, even with my "Oops" moment on the ring finger :)

Overall, these three colors are nice but nothing "new".  I love the last two, and I am happy to add them to my collection, but nothing here FLOORED ME!

Cheers to China Glaze® Autumn Nights, available in September 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores as open stock colors, 6 piece box collections, 6 piece counter display, 12 piece counter display and 36 piece rack.

Wet Paint Nail Polish: Swatches and review

Here we go 'round 2 of Wet Paint Nail Polish.

This time I tried...

"Always Buy Platinum" and "Willful" Top Coat Glaze.

First I started with 1 coat of "Always Buy Platinum", no top coat.

Gorgeous in one coat.  You can not layer too much with this polish, without allowing it to dry for a couple minutes first, as there maybe some drag. But overall, one coat will do it!  I could have stopped here, but I marched on. :)

Then I applied, 1 coat of "Willful"...

Wowza! Very cool. I am in love with this combo! Two coats, total,  and you have an electric combo on your hands! :)

Then I applied 1 coat each of the SPFX effects in...

SPFX colors "Carmel Breeze", "Onyx" and "Moonstone".

Left to right: "Carmel Breeze", "Onyx" and "Moonstone" on top of the previous manicured layers, no top coat.

Not all combos are winners, and this is an example of three fails,in my opinion,  LOL!

This is where I stop being impressed. I'm not crazy about these "SPFX" colors. SPFX "Caramel Breeze" is the best out of the three I have tried, and would work in a variety of manicure combos, but only if you kept the manicure in the "cool toned" color family.  See my earlier post HERE.

The fun thing about this brand is that you can try as many combos as you want, and you will never end up with the same manicure twice.  The line has 31 base colors, 17 Top Coat Glaze's and 6 SPFX color.

The colors are very affordable. The base colors are $6.00, the top coats are $8.00 and the SPFX colors are $8.00.  They also have certain colors paired together in smaller collections, as well as nail treatments.

Literary Lacquers: "Literary Liquors" Collection, selected swatches

Happy Monday! I have some gorgeous colors for you today from Literary Lacquers.

Left to Right: "Dandelion Wine", "Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster", "Strawberry Ice Cream Soma", and "Two at the Very Most".

I am in love with the fact that this collection are all about colors and drinks, I think it's too cute!

Literary Lacquers
"Dandelion Wine"
3 coats, no top coat
This polish is inspired by "Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury

Super gorgeous dandelion yellow holographic polish. Electric in the sun, I was not expecting a fabulous holographic, and a fabulous YELLOW holographic makes me even more happy and giddy!  This applied smoothly in three coats, and covered very well.

This is what it looks like in indirect lighting...

Check out that pink flash! This is a surprise color for me. I am in love with it in the sun and in the shade. This color does not disappoint.

Literary Lacquer
"Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster"
3 coats, no top coat
This polish is inspired by a drink in the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.

This name cracks me up!, and the color, yeah it's breathtaking!  This applied smoothly in three coats, and this is another dual stunner, just like the first polish. In the sun it's a gorgeous teal blue holographic, in indirect lightning...

Glittah! Yep, this dazzles you in and out of the sun!

Literary Lacquer
"Strawberry Ice Cream Soma"
3 coats, no top coat
This polish is inspired by Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

This color is super cute and sticky sweet! This reminds me of Hubba Bubba gum, I love it!  Applied smoothly in three coats, this color will make the little girl in all of us squeal, BARBIE! Pink is not my favorite color, but I do like the holographic shimmer and the brightness that this color lends to it.

Literary Lacquer
"Two at the Very Most"
2 coats over "Strawberry Ice Cream Soma"
This polish is inspired by the martini, literature's most beloved cocktail. The name refers to the quatrain attributed to Dorothy Parker

This is a fun glitter topper, that totally reminds me of the classic martini , clean smooth and with a single olive. :)

My favorite part of this glitter is the light green colored circles, too cute! Two coats of this applied very easily. This is a great glitter topper, and gives even the lightest, most frothy manicures a bit of edge. :)

and in indirect lighting...

You can grab these colors individually for $10.00, or as a set (with 2 other colors) for $55.00 at Literary Lacquer.

Overall,  my favorites are "Dandelion Wine", and "Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster". All the polishes applied perfectly,  but these two are my definite favorites.

Follow Literary Lacquers on Facebook, to keep up with the latest and greatest.
