Teal Ombre Nail Manicure

Here is a sweet little diddy I wore last week.

I took an empty nail wheel and swatched a bunch of teal cremes, in order to see which colors looked "in harmony" with one another, and these were the winners!

Left to Right: China Glaze "Re-Fresh Mint, Catrice "Am I Blue Or Green?", China Glaze "Aquadelic", Zoya "Wednesday", OPI "Mermaid's Tears".

Left to Right (Thumb to Pinkie): China Glaze "Re-Fresh Mint, Catrice "Am I Blue Or Green?", China Glaze "Aquadelic", Zoya "Wednesday", OPI "Mermaid's Tears".

I like how this ombre goes from "minty green" to "teal blue", and then to a more subdued teal. Fun!

Laser Beams!

Last week, I saw a fabulous manicure on All Lacquered Up, that had to recreate. She called the manicure "80s Striped Tape Manicure"...but I call it Laser Beams! :)

For this manicure I used my 3 favorite nail brands for creme polishes, OPI, Zoya  and Catrice.

First, I painted my nails with 3 coats of OPI "Need Sunglasses". This is a a sheer sunshine yellow creme with shimmer. Then I applied 2 coats of Zoya "Paz", which is a neon orange creme. But because it is so bright, it needs a lighter color underneath to make it POP!

I decided to paint them in alternating side colors, and with one nail, I just applied the Zoya down the center.

After they had completely dried, I applied nail striping tape across the nail in random directions to create the most effect.  I only used 2 or 3 pieces of tape per nail. Then I applied 2 coats of Catrice "It's All I Can Blue". The Catrice is a bright cornflower blue creme, and I thought it would look the best with the neon orange and yellow.

After I was done, I immediately took off the tape very carefully while the polish was still wet. Try and remember the order you applied the tape, and pull them off in the reverse order. I used tweezers to grab the tips of the tape.  After cleanup (very little), I applied 2 coats of top coat.

I love how the colors change up from neon orange to yellow! It reminds me of clashing light sabers in Star Wars, LOL!...except mine are yellow and orange. :)

I am super happy with this manicure, and I plan on doing it again and again!

Going GREEN with Shimmer Polish!

Happy Monday!

Today, I am going to share 2 manicures I wore recently, using one fabulous color from Shimmer Polish.

It's MARCH People!...embrace the green...LOL!

First manicure..

Shimmer Polish "Kelly" and Catrice "Run Forest Run!".

You all know Catrice is my favorite European brand, and here I applied 2 coats and then followed it up with "Kelly" on the tips.

Bottle Shot

Shimmer Polish "Kelly" is a green and gold glitter polish. I applied it sparingly to the tips, in 2 coats, making it seem to gradually become more opaque as you near the tips.  The glitter applied very well, no fishing it out of the bottle, and it did not clump-up, or stand-up or curl.  It dried with no issues, and after my usual 2 coats of top coat, it was glassy smooth.

I like how this glitter just added the punch of glitter and sparkle that this manicure was lacking.

Next Up...

Shimmer Polish "Kelly" and China Glaze "I'm With The Lifeguard"

After recently giving my nails a good spring CHOP, I decided I was staying "green"and going NEON!

I applied 2 coats of China Glaze "I'm With The Lifeguard", and then decided to try "Kelly", on top as an accent nail.

I only applied 1 coat of "Kelly",  as I wanted the neon green to still be seen, and the 2 colors surprisingly went well together. I could see wearing the two colors layered as an entire manicure :)

"Kelly" has the perfect balance of green and gold glitter in a variation of sizes, and with the clear base it can be used in a variety of ways.  I have more Shimmer Polishes to show you so stay tuned! :)

You can get Shimmer Polish from her shop on ETSY, and you can follow Shimmer Polish on the BLOG and on FACEBOOK.

Pool Party!

No, no, I'm not throwing a pool party, but there is one happening on my nails, LOL!

Catrice "Be Pool" and China Glaze "Pizzazz".

I applied 2 coats of Catrice "Be Pool", and then 3 coats of China Glaze "Pizzazz" on the ring finger. Then applied 1 coat of Seche Vite to dry.  I normally do 1 coats of top coat, but I was in a rush :)

Catrice "Be Pool" is from the Nymphelia Limited Edition Collection released Spring 2012.  It is a gorgeous teal blue and green shimmer polish, that looks like the perfect pool of water on a spring day. It applied nicely, as Catrice always does, with 2 coats. Great brush, great formula, great everything!

China Glaze "Pizzazz" is from the Holiday Joy Collection released Winter 2012.  It is a silver glitter with added pink, purple, blue , green, yellow and orange hex glitter in a clear base.  It's a serious glitter party! I decided to just do 3 coats of it by itself, to get a more "loaded glitter" look, reminiscent of left over glitter on the floor after a party!

"Pizzazz" applied very well for a glitter, no clumps and the glitter was easily applied to the nail. I can see using this many times, only because of how easily this glitter matches with most nail colors!

Even though the bald spots are noticeable in the pics, they are not in real life. In fact, because of all the bling this glitter delivers, all you see is a glitter party on your nail!.

My two favorite brands in one manicure o_O

Okay I'm back and here is a manicure I wore before I left for vacay.

2 coats of Catrice "Pool Party At Night", with an accent nail topped with 1 coat of OPI DS "Shimmer".

The plan was to cover the entire Catrice manicure with the DS, but the Catrice is such a beautiful blue creme that I did not have the heart to cover up all the nails with the DS, so I just did an accent finger.

I love Catrice polish, it is my favorite European brand.

OPI DS "Shimmer" is such a magical and diverse holographic polish. It is thin enough to be layered on top of others colors transforming any creme into a holographic goddess, or it can be worn on it's own and blind any person that lays eyes on it.  AMAZING!
