Color Club "Safari Garden" for Spring 2014

Here are some fun colors from Color Club that are perfect for Spring and Summer!

The names are cute too!

Color Club "Lion's Den"
3 coats, no top coat

Here it is again in indirect light.

This sheer formula packs a lot of punch...in three coats! This is a metallic shimmer that delivers flashes of gold, pink and copper. This is super pretty in person and would look great on summer tanned skin :)

Color Club "Nail-Robi"
2 coats, no top coat

This polish is a smooth rich purple creme. It reminds me more of a fall color, but once it is paired with the other colors in the collection, it does have a "Spring Time" feel to it . It applied well in two coats, no issues...except for the camera :)

Color Club "Tribe and True"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a bright moss green crelly (a cross between a creme and a jelly). It's smooth and bright, and covered well in two coats. I had no issues getting this to apply well to the nail and I actually like the color, BUT I can't see myself wearing it as a full manicure. I can only take this color in small doses. Maybe as nail art, or an accent finger on the pinky nail, LOL! Small doses!

Color Club "Look, Don't Tusk"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a bon white ivory creme. I say "bone shite" because bones are not perfectly white, but actually have a little ivory in them. I really like this color, and I prefer this to white polishes if you are going to do an all white manicure. This color is less harsh than white and looks great on the hands, plus it applied perfectly in two coats.

Color Club "In De-Nile"
2 coats, no top coat

This light baby blue creme screams, SPRING! I love it, it's perfect and applied well in two coats!

Color Club "Safari Sunset"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a very pretty peach based polish with added golden shimmer. The shimmer is very subtle which makes this polish very wearable. It was easy to apply in two coats, and would be perfect for a summer wedding or any event when you want to look feminine and pretty.

My favorites are "Nail-Robi", "Look, Don't Tusk" and "In De-Nile". Do you see any that you HAVE to have?

Still in love with your holiday glitters?...wear them!

Happy Monday!

Today I am going to show you how you can still rock your favorite holiday glitters for Spring!  A little glitter goes a long way. :)

Hopefully this post will convince you that you don't have to put away your favorite sparklers from the holidays, and you can give them new life in the SUN!

I'll be using theses four glitters released this past Holiday from Sally Hansen.

Left to Right: "Twinkle Toes-ty", "Fa la la lavender", "Midnight Glitz", and "3, 2, 1derland".

SH "Twinkle Toes-ty" over Color Club "Antiquated".
2 coats over the Color Club, no top coat

I was inspired by the pink flashes of the gold glitter and the rose toned hex glitter, suspended in the clear base.  I love how the rosier base of the Color Club brings it all out!

SH "Fa la la Lavender"  over OPI "I'm Feeling Sashay"
1 coat over the OPI, no top coat

This combo is very "Easter Eggy"" to me, and I love the fact that the glitter gave me so much in just one coat.

This is an awesome combo of lavender glitter and rose pink glitter in a clear base.

Here are some pictures in indirect lighting...

Yep, I love it!

SH "Midnight Glitz" over OPI "Black Onyx".
2 coats over the OPI, no top coat

Here you can see the black glitter in the base :) The base ins a smoky black, not opaque, with black, gold and holographic glitter.

I know what your thinking, black glitter? and spring? But hear me out!

In Spring, once the snow thaws, people tend to be outside more at night admiring the clear night sky and enjoying the warmer weather. This reminds me of the night sky, which is best seen in warmer temperatures with a cool drink in your hand, and some good friends nearby. :)

This is a classic combo, a smooth easy base of black topped with black and holographic glitter of varying sizes, EXCELLENT!

SH "3, 2, 1derland" over Barielle "Lemondrops"
1 coat over the Barielle, no top coat

This combo is my favorite! It totally reminds me of the Spring flowers, yellow sunflowers, and yellow daisies paired with the blue skies of the clear Spring air, LOL :) Blue and green glitter in a clear base, sounds simple, but man what an IMPACT it has on a manicure! LOVE!

Purple Mix!

I wanted something with sparkle, with the color purple and this is what I used...

China Glaze "Spontaneous", OPI "Push and Shove" and Color Club "Too Violet".

So I applied two coats of the China Glaze which applied very well, then I applied two coats of the Color Club. I had to thin the color club since it is an older color, and bit clumpy. Then, using the very delicate method of application I did before HERE, I applied the OPI.

All the polishes wore well EXCEPT for the ...Color Club :(  It chipped the next day.  I was prepared for the OPI to chip, but nope, it wore very well.  I topped all the colors with my usual two coats, one coat of OPI "Top Coat" and then one coat of "Seche Vite".

The Color Club was a bit bumpy and still felt gritty after the two coats of top coat, in the future I'll remember to use my thicker top coats :)

As usual...Keep It Sweet!
