Sonoma Nail Art "Here Lies Robert" with OPI.

Okay this glitter was not my favorite from the collection, but paired with these OPI's has skyrocketed it to the top of my list! I LOVED this manicures, definitely one of my favorite manicures yet!

Left to Right: OPI "Skull & Glossbones", "Stranger Tides", "Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window", "Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!", "Black Onyx" and Sonoma Nail Art "Here Lies Robert".

I applied 2 coats of color to each nail, and then topped them all off with 2 coats of glitter. I wore this manicure for 5 days, no chips!

Because the Sonoma Glitter has such great colors of green grey and silver in it, I really wanted to find an array of base colors that would compliment it, so I did a gradient hand and the slapped the glitter in top of them all! :)

I did the same gradient on the right hand but in the opposite order...

"Here Lies Robert" is a great color, very dark, and creepy! :) This is the only polish with a clear base, and it has squares, hexagons, diamonds and bar glitter. All in a variety of shades of black, grey, bright green, moss green, silver and gold. It reminds me of zombie flesh.  :P

UPDATE 10/24/12 9:11am : It is still available now on her etsy site HERE

The glitter was very smooth and went on with no issues. I did not have to "place" any of the glitter on my nails, best glitter application by far, hands down!  Here are some pics in indirect light.

Oh... how I loved this manicure!

I seriously was in love with this manicure, SERIOUSLY!

I was going for "burning embers"...tell me, did I get it?

Oh so pretty and super simple!

1 thick coat of Diamond Cosmetics "Cherry Tobacco", and 1 good coat of Kleancolor "Chunky Holo Scarlet". That's it!

WOW!

I really wanted that "fire" feeling, and I think I got it.  I've seen other manicures use black as a base, but I believe that the black base ,doesn't deliver that dark red "fire base" as much as a dark red shimmer can deliver! :P

I love the Kleancolor Chunky Holos, and because they dry so smooth, there is no need to double up on topcoats, in order to "tame" the glitter monster...LOL!

FYI...I still did my usual 2 top coats (1 coat regular top coat, 1 coat of seche vite), for longer wear :)

Franken: "Life 'O' The Party"

Yep, I've been am mixin machine lately, and this one is super easy.  I first heard about this franken on Reflection, Sassy Nails and Silly Diversions *say that 10 times fast* :)

Her franken was so awesome, and so close to Butter London's Black Knight, that I had to give it a shot, and so I did. I went to my local drugstore where I knew they had 2 bottles of Sally Hansen "Midnight in NY" and then grabbed 2 bottles of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Rockstar Pink" off the rack as well.

Went home and started mixin!!! I mixed in equal parts, and I ended up making 3 full sized bottles. I think I may give 1 away in a giveaway, does that sound cool?

Not a bad dupe, if I do say so myself :)  After seeing the flashes of pink and sparkles, I knew I had to add some pink accent nails to the mix...so WALLAH!

This is my new franken "Life 'O' The Party", with Orly "Purple Crush" (which is not purple, but still awesome).

I topped the Orly off with Cover Girl "City Lights", so that it had some sparkle!

2 coats of  LotP, and 2 coats of PC and coverage was opaque and perfect! The manicure tried a tad bumpy, but top coat took care of that in a jiffy. No issues!

And in true Franken Fashion, I named this bad boy after another Prince song *shocking*, "Life 'O' The Party" from his "Musicology" Album. WOO HOO!!!!! O(+>

Look at that awesome sparkle, and trust me after you make this beauty, you will not need BL "Black Knight"..save your $$$ for another beauty and make this one IMMEDIATELY!!!

I loved this manicure, definitely a favorite!

My new favorite manicure!

Yep, the second I woke up the next morning I fell in love...No, not with any hot guy next to me *I wish*, but with the hot manicure on my hands...LOL!!!

This manicure is AMAZING! I LOVE IT!!!!

Orly "Orange Punch" and Lynnderella "Connect The Dots"

I love this manicure!!!  Lynnderella "Connect The Dots" is amazing, seriously, this makes every manicure AWESOME!!

And apparently, I'm not the only one who loves it, I checked out one of my favorite fellow nail blogger's site, "Chalkboard Nails" and she posted  Lynnderella "Connect The Dots" Tuesday, Check it out HERE.

Great minds think alike, Chica!

The Orly is a gorgeous bright orange, without being neon.  It was a bit sheer, so I had to apply 2 "thickish" coats, and then 2 coat of the "Connect The Dots" . The "Connect The Dots" applied, nicely and I did not have to "place" the glitter on my nails. :)

"Connect The Dots" has a sheer slightly glittery base, with black and white multi-shaped and multi-sized glitter. There is bar glitter, hexagon shaped glitter, round glitter and even squares!

I loved this color so much, it is on my toes too, LOVE IT!!!! Lynnderella has a great blog, where she announces her newest collection HERE

Also, you can get Lynnderella "Connect The Dots" at LLAROWE's website, HERE

A chick, a straw and some paint.

So after seeing all the great "splatter manicures" around the blogosphere, you know I had to try.

The method is that you paint your nail any color, then dip a straw into nail polish (the bottle or dip it into a glob of polish on a plate or foil), then place over the nail and BLOW!!!!!!

So here are my results!!!

Left hand

Right Hand. What do you think? I like the right hand better than the left :)

I used OPI "Alpine Snow", 2 coats, since white polish is a great base for neon's.  Then to "splatter", I used  China Glaze "Pool Party", "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and "Towel Boy Toy". All topped with 2 coats of top coat :)

Yeah it makes a MESS!, so here are some tips:

1. Use a smaller straw, like those used as coffee stirrers. The "splatter" is more controlled.

2. Tape up your fingers along the sides and the across the cuticle, or smear petroleum jelly in the same area before you start, for easy clean up.

3. I prefer to drop the paint on a piece of foil and then dip the straw in that.  Dipping the straw in the bottle can waste a lot of paint, and it makes the straw even messier.

4. Wear clothing you don't care about, the paint may get on  them.

5. Have an eyeliner brush and acetone ready to clean up the sides.

5. Don't try and be perfect, just have fun! :)

I said, I wasn't going to do this again, but looking back at my nails... I think I actually WILL do this again!

Right Thumb.

Left Thumb

Everyone who saw my hands, was amazed at how cool they came out, and even more amazed that I did them myself. :P

Have you already tried this method? Which color combination's did you use?

My favorite manicure this summer...so far!

I SERIOUSLY hated taking this one off! I loved it so much, I'm contemplating doing it again...LOL!

LOVED THIS!!

It was super easy too, I did three coats of China Glaze "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" on one half and 3 coats of China Glaze "Towel Boy Toy" on the other.  Let them dry and then I slapped OPI "Navy Shatter" on top, and topped with my usual 2 coats of top coat.

That's it!

There were some parts where the 2 base colors overlapped, and that created this really cool green/ aqua color.

I also played with the idea of alternating the colors on each nail, just to keep things interesting :) Do you like?

Next time I'll do a base of white under the neon's, to really make them pop! :);)

Happy Friday!
