China Glaze Electropop, Brights Collection: Swatches and Comparisons

Finally... I have been working on this post (and the next) for almost a week.  After receiving the collection I realized I had a lot of similar colors, so of course I had to do comparison photos too! :P

Because of all the photos, I had to do this collection in 2 posts, first "The Brights", then "The Lights" :)

"Aquadelic"
2 coats, no top coat

A gorgeous aqua teal creme! My bottle was thick, and the 2nd coat was tricky to apply, but I managed to get it on smoothly!

I compared this to China Glaze "For Audrey".

Left to Right: "For Audrey", "Aquadelic".

Left to Right: "For Audrey", "Aquadelic", "For Audrey", "Aquadelic".

Left to Right: "For Audrey", "Aquadelic".

As you can see, they are close, but "For Audrey" is lighter.  Both are bright, and both remind us of that beloved 'Tiffany" color, but they are definitely not dupes.

"Gaga For Green"
2 coats, no top coat

Great spring grass green! This was a bit thin for me, so I applied my 2 coats on the thicker side. Overall, I am impressed with this color. I do not have many greens in my stash so this one is well received :)

I compared this to OPI "Green-wich Village"

Left to Right: "Greenwich Village", "Gaga for Green", "Greenwich Village", "Gaga for Green".

Left to Right: "Greenwich Village", "Gaga for Green".  Greenwich is a bit thinner in application, and much darker than Gaga.  I'm happy I have them both.

"Sunshine Pop"
2 coats, no top coat

Bright lemon frost! This applied nicely as well, better than most yellows. But the "frost effect" does not "wow me", so this one fell flat for me.

I do not have any other yellow frost, so I compared it to another yellow I had, China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky".

Left to Right: "Sunshine Pop", "Happy Go Lucky".

Left to Right: "Happy Go Lucky", "Sunshine Pop", "Happy Go Lucky", "Sunshine Pop".

Left to Right: "Sunshine Pop", "Happy Go Lucky".  I compared them more to show the differences rather than the similarities. Sunshine is a bright lemon frost, and happy is a lemon creme, both yellow, both bright, both perfect, but Happy makes me happier, LOL :)

"Make Some Noise"
2 coats, no top coat

I loved this color, bright coral red creme! Yum!

I had 2 colors to compare this too, China Glaze "High Hopes", and OPI's new color "Red Lights Ahead...Where?".

Left to Right: "High Hopes", "Make Some Noise", "Red Lights Ahead...Where?"

Left to Right: "High Hopes", "Make Some Noise", "Red Lights Ahead...Where?", "Make Some Noise".

Left to Right: "High Hopes", "Make Some Noise", "Red Lights Ahead...Where?". Yeah, super awesome! High Hopes, has more coral tones, Make Some Noise, has more red, and Red Lights has way more red tones.  I know my pics, make them look like possible dupes, but they are very close, but different. If you have Make Some Noise, you may not need the OPI.,and vice versa.

"Wicked Style"
2 coats, no top coat

Nice, bright, fuchsia creme! No issues or complaints with this one, not terribly unique, but still a great color for spring.

I compared it to Funky Fingers "Off With Their Heads!".

Left to Right: "Off With Their Heads", "Wicked Style", "Off With Their Heads", "Wicked Style".

Left to Right: "Off With Their Heads", "Wicked Style".

It's crazy that these are so close, but I have to say out of all my comparisons, these 2 are the closest. In real life I could see the difference, but there is no need to own both.  One will have to go...LOL!

OMG, after looking at all of these close comparison, my eyes are shot..LOL!

Here they are again, all topped with 1 coat of "Techno", the silver holographic top coat that came with the 12 piece set.

Overall this set was not terribly unique, the only reason I purchased it, was because during the spring and summer these are the kinds of colors I like to wear, so I need them in my stash...LOL! :)

My favorites, "Gaga For Green", and Make Some Noise".

Next up..."The Lights"!!

Snakes!!!!!!

This past fall, dusty green/gold foils were in! Every color reminded me of snakeskin, so when I finally got my hands on one named "Snakeskin", I knew I had to compare them all.

So here are 4 of the ones I collected!

2 coats: Zoya "Edyta", Diamond Cosmetics "Never so evergreen", Funky Fingers "Snakeskin", S-he "466"

No "real" issues with either formula. Zoya and Diamond Cosmetics were flawless, and the other 2 were thin on the first coat, but the 2nd coat covered perfectly. :)

The Zoya and The DC are really similar, but the Zoya had a bit more shimmer and foil effect.

I am in love with the FF "Snakeskin", so silvery and greenish, so cool looking :) The S-he is very neat too, because it has great "hidden shimmer", It is a milky olive creme with hidden "goldish shimmer", in the sun it's awesome!

Ugggh, this color is so pretty! I love how this color was so popular last fall/winter, but instead of giving us 4 fabulous dupes, we got 4 totally different versions of the same idea...awesome!

I know color club has a similar color and so did Nubar :)

Do you have any of these beauties? Or do you have one of the others that are along the same lines?

Anyone want a Lolli?

I was in Party City with a friend and while she was getting birthday balloons, I was in the candy section getting my favorite thing....candy, "Now and Laters", "Laffy Taffy", "Pixy Stixs", "Nerds"... all that crap and then I spotted these!

Little individual lollipops, sooooo freakin cute!

Then it hit me...I have these same colors in nail polish, so I bought the lolli and went to work.

I used my new Funky Fingers in "Mad Hatter", "Chesire", and "Off with their heads!".

I did two coats of M.H and then I did the strips in C and O.W.T.H...and then topped it off with a shiny top coat.....you like?

It was really fun doing this mani...of course after I was done I devoured the lolli in seconds...it was small!

I think I can get into this nail art thing....LMAO!

So I want to say thank you to everyone who took part in my giveaway, now I have my 4th of July weekend to tally the entries and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday July 6th!

Thank You :)

Funky Fingers: Alice in Wonderland 2010

I just received in a giveaway from Oyku, the set of Funky Fingers inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

I've been told that Funky Fingers comes from the same manufacturer as Color Club, so some colors are the same, which means if you can't find the Color Club version maybe you can find the same color in Funky Fingers....you can't beat that.

and away we go........

3 coats w/ top coat
"Mad hatter"
Sorry for the blurry shots, but these are the only ones that are color accurate. Great turquoise creme, bright and pretty, but it dried matte, so I needed a top coat to make it shine. Plus, I had to do 3 coats to get rid of bald spots

3 coats
"Off with their heads"
This is a nice red creme that leans pink.  I'd call this a "fuchsia red" creme.  This was a bit streaky and 3 coats was necessary to get rid of some bald spots.  It dried with a nice shine, no top coat necessary.

2 coats w/ top coat
"Chesire"
I love this purple, bright lots of pigment, beautiful creamy goodness!

I'm told this is the same as Color Clubs " Pucci-licious".I saw a post where they were the same, I always forget where I see certain posts.  I follow over 100 blogs, so I mix them up all the  time..apologies!

I FOUND IT, over at My Latest Obsession

3 coats w/ top coat
"White Queen"
This one was pretty thick and would be better as a top coat over another polish.  the base color reminds me of a milk glass filled with water..make sense? Then fill that milk glass with muti-colored glitter. Got it?...good! :)

3 coats w/ top coat
"Alice"

This is the stand out of the group, simply stunning, Its a deep marine blue micro glitter, It almost has a metallic finish, GORGEOUS!

This is my favorite hands down, followed by "Chesire"...Overall I like Funky Fingers, despite needing 3 coats on most of them, the formula is easy to handle too!

Thanks for reading!
