Kleancolor Metallic: Swatches

My prayers got out to the victims and families afflicted by the shooting in the "Dark Knight Rises" premiere in Colorado. :(

Today I have 3 colors I grabbed at a beauty supply located kind of far from my house, in the neighborhood where I go to get my burritos...I love Mexican food!!!!

No matter where I am driving, walking, or just running errands, if I see a beauty supply or nail supply I always pull over and go in, you never know what you may find. :)  In this case, the beauty supply was older, and crammed with stuff, so when I saw these beauties with lots of dust on them and for $1.99, I knew I found some beauties!!!!

Kleancolor "Metallic Aqua", "Metallic Sapphire", and "Metallic Purple". I think these are the older Metallics since the colors turned out so saturated. I know the newly released Metallics are more silver and the color is not as rich.

Kleancolor
"Metallic Aqua"
2 coats, no top coat

Nice bright aqua metallic foil. This was very easy to apply and GORGEOUS!!!

Kleancolor
"Metallic Sapphire"
2 coats, no top coat

I love this color! The only color that can trump this one for me, is the "Metallic Navy" Kleancolor, if I could get my hands on that one, I know I would be equally amazed :)

Kleancolor
"Metallic Purple"
2 coats, no top coat

My camera was doing back-flips over this color, it was so hard to capture the true color because they all have this "glowing" quality that makes the color look skewed in the sun. But it is exactly that "glow", that makes them so fabulous!

Overall all 3 applied super well, smooth and the 2nd coat did not give me drag or lumps...just foil perfection! Dry time was great as well, I find most foils dry pretty fast, and that's exactly what happened with these three, perfectly smooth and dry to the (soft) touch,  just under 5 minutes. :)

Happy Friday!  Keep it Sweet!

Oh... how I loved this manicure!

I seriously was in love with this manicure, SERIOUSLY!

I was going for "burning embers"...tell me, did I get it?

Oh so pretty and super simple!

1 thick coat of Diamond Cosmetics "Cherry Tobacco", and 1 good coat of Kleancolor "Chunky Holo Scarlet". That's it!

WOW!

I really wanted that "fire" feeling, and I think I got it.  I've seen other manicures use black as a base, but I believe that the black base ,doesn't deliver that dark red "fire base" as much as a dark red shimmer can deliver! :P

I love the Kleancolor Chunky Holos, and because they dry so smooth, there is no need to double up on topcoats, in order to "tame" the glitter monster...LOL!

FYI...I still did my usual 2 top coats (1 coat regular top coat, 1 coat of seche vite), for longer wear :)

Happy Friday...Happy Nails!

Yep, it's Friday and we are having a dual baby shower at work.  yep, 2 more girls will soon be joining the world and hopefully the ranks of the POLISH OBSESSED! LOL, I'll make sure to stick a couple of my blog business cards in their onesies and diaper pails :)! *muah muah*!

Okay so for today I have a crazy fun green I sported a couple days ago, hope you like it!

2 coats OPI "Green-which Village" and 2 coats Kleancolor "Chunky Holo Clover" on top.

My poor poor cuticles, this was "custards last stand" for them.  After these photos, I had to take drastic measures. :(

This is what I did and what I do ever time my cuticles get a bad case of the "Winter blahs":

Remove all my polish.
Soak my nails and cuticles in 1 part warm water, 1 part lemon juice and 2 parts warmed olive oil.
After they are soaked, I wash my hands and push back my cuticles, apply cuticle remover, to remove all the dead skin and extra "gunk".
Scrub my cuticles and nails with a nail brush., then wash and dry.

Apply a good hand cream and apply cuticle oil  or your favorite cuticle cream to the cuticles.  I forgot to take pictures after, but next time I do this I'll make a tutorial out of it :) But believe me it works.

Okay back to the polish...the OPI was pretty thin for a cream, definitely needed 2 coats to get full coverage, even then I had streaks, but after applying the Kleancolor in 2 coats, it was all good!

Chunky Holo makes every manicure better, look at the holographic display those chunk are giving...awesome! Next time I use my Kleancolor, I'm using it over a darker green, so I get more holographic effect! NICE!

Happy Friday!!!!

On FIRE!!!!!!

Yep, my nails were on fire..at least I wish they were because it is COLD out here this week! Yesterday morning it was 39 degrees, and that is considered cold for Southern California..LOL! Plus, this past Sunday we had HAIL...YIKES!!!!!

Although I am very happy, and fortunate not to have to deal with snow, 39 degrees is still way too cold for ME!

The manicure for today reminds me of crackling fires and warm fireplaces. :)

OPI "Friar Friar Pants On Fire", topped with Kleancolor Chunky Holo "Poppy"

I used 2 coats of FFPoF, then topped it with 2 coat of Poppy.

FFPoF, is a great reddened orange shimmer, and topped with Poppy, it seriously POPPED!!!!

With the KleanColor on top, you can't see the "flames" until you look at it in in-direct light! :)

Kleancolor Chunky Holos are super cheap, $1.75, and are the best investment to vamping up any manicure.  :)

I know a lot of people have a problem with their Kleancolors drying, but mine dried fine, once they were topped with Seche Vite. I think because the Kelancolors go on soo smoothly, and are very GEL-LIKE,  they need a quick drying top coat to help them dry.  It is worth the extra effort :)

Glassy and gorgeous! I wore this one for 4 days, chip free, after than I got bored and had to change it :)

KleanColor Chunky Holo Bluebell

I recently did a huge haul of KleanColor Chunky Holos from Beauty Joint.com...Yeah, I bought all the colors..but my excuse is that they were only $1.75 each, so how could I not..LOL :)

Okay, Okay....I bought a couple extra for swaps, and to boot, I received an extra purple one for FREE ( I think this was an accident).

The first color I had to try was "Chunky Holo Bluebell". I believe the reason they call these "chunky holo" is because of the size of the holo glitter, it's chunky as in "big in size", not "gritty". :)

Anyway, I decided to pair it with OPI "Dating A Royal", which is a great medium blue jelly...a perfect match!

1 coat of OPI, and then 2 coats of Chunky Holo Bluebell.  It is pretty in direct light, but in in-direct light it really shines!

Are you ready for all the glorious pics?.....

Wow!!!!

They may look chunky and bumpy,  but they are completely smooth, and shiny! ( not top coat in these pics) :)

The KleanColor Chunky Holo line is a lot of fun, and I am going to enjoy layering these with some of my favorite polishes.  Definitely, grab them if you can HERE.

Just look at that !!!!!!
