The NARS polish I returned...

Yep, I bought it!

It was gorgeous in the bottle, and once I did my manicure...NOT HAPPY!!! Luckily I purchased this at Nordstroms, so I took my receipt and the box (with the sticker) and went back to Nordies, still wearing the color on my hands!

NARS
"Night Flight"
2 coats

Yeah, its a pretty dark blue shimmer in a black base, with flecks of purple and navy blue, but not $18 pretty, which really disappointed me.  The formula was great, but the color is not not spectacular enough to warrant the $18 price tag.

I have VERY similar blues, that are great and cost a fraction of the price. I wanted to love this, but it fell short for me in the "Fabulous Department" :(

I think it's the "black base: that kills the blue for me.  The bottle looks great but it comes off darker and more muted on the nail ..Wah wah!

The sales woman was super nice, she showed me some other blue colors by Lippmann and Butter London but unfortunately I already had most of them..LOL.  She even took off her shows to show e a blue pedicure, which totally put a smile on my face..but alas I walked out of Nordies with only my receipt and my money back.

I know I'll be back once they get the new Lippmann glitters :)

Those fabulous purple flecks you see, BARELY show up on the nail, in real life.  Overall, It was a sad nail day :) LOL

China Glaze: Skyscraper...a lemming fixed?

So like everyone else once the metro collection was released I immediately made a bee line for China Glaze skyscraper, hoping it would cur my long time lemming for Essie "Starry Starry Night'!

With some careful and strategic layering, I think I got it :)

Here's what I used...

After my base coat, I applied:
NARS "Midnight Express" 1 coat
China Glaze "Skyscraper" 2 coats
Essie "Night Cap" 1 coat

Topped with OPI "Top Coat" and Seche Vite.

China Glaze "Sky Scraper" is a gorgeous blue jelly with silver glitter.

Adding "Night Cap" on top made the silver glitter sparkle like twinkling blue lights, I loved it!!! and I wore this for 4 days no chips!!

See the blue twinkling lights?  :)

Here s a comparison from my earlier swatch of "Skyscraper" by itself...

And here it is layered...

The layering makes the blue deeper, and the silver glitter sparkles blue instead of silver once topped with "Night Cap".  :)

Sometimes it just take some strategic layering to get ti right..LOL! :)

What is your favorite layering color?

Nars "Tokaido Express'

NARS "Tokaido Express"...great fall color, nuff said...

I didn't need 3 coats, but I was so love with this color, I wanted to build it up, then I topped it off with 1 coat of Seche Vite. :)

It's a shimmery wine colored brown, that in certain light looks like a deep purple.

Great shimmer, awesome color!

I really like the quality of this polish, it's easy to handle, no pooling, and the color has depth with all the shimmer and layers of color, so pretty!

Next, I need to get my hands on NARS "Purple Rain" :)

NARS the stuff that seperates the women from the girls....

NARS "Zulu" arrived and I made a bee line to Nordstroms, I even called ahead to make sure they had he collection..

I arrived and the sales woman said "I hope you didnt want Full Metal Jacket?"..I said "Oh no, I want "Zulu" and "Midnight Express"...why? is Full Metal Jacket sold out?". Come to find out it was sold out. I picked up the sample bottle and thought why? Its just a silver. I figured, I'd delve into this later and grabbed my two bottles of luxurious jelly polish and hit the road.

Why is "Full Metal Jacket" sold out? I mean really?... it's just another silver, platinum polish..no biggie. The real big deal is "Zulu" and "Midnight Express" in my opinion.

Then I realized... "Zulu" and "Midnight Express" can only be loved, appreciated and adored by a "Nail Head", someone who understands what a jelly polish IS and how great these two shades are.

So here ya go..

"Zulu"
3 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I wore this for 4 days and it was AWESOME!

Then I couldnt wait to swatch "Midnight Express"
"Midnight Express"
3 coats

Then I realized 4 was needed, I still had some bald spots...see them?

I could have done this in 3 coats, if I wasn't in such a rush.

This is 4 coats....I'm in love!

Gorgeous!!!  So now I realize why "Full Metal Jacket" was gone...see jelly's take patience and lots-o-love, only something a "nail head" could attempt to deliver and appreciate.

So all the other polish shoppers can take the easy road...I'll take the the hard and difficult road that leads to GREAT looking nails...thank you very much :) LMAO
