FOUR Shades of Grey: Pure Ice Swatches and Review

"When you are not busy enthralled in the world of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, take a break and do your nail"

Here are 4 fabulous greys and silver from Pure Ice...

Pure Ice
"Kiss Me Here"
2 coats, no top coat

Topped with Pure Ice "Lightning Strikes", with 1 coat of top coat

In the shade...

This is my favorite! It's super easy, and even-though you can create this color using other greys and crackles, you can't deny that it looks great!

Pure Ice
"Silver Mercedes"
2 coats, no top coat

With careful coats, this polish is almost perfectly streak free, I'm very happy with this silver stunner.

Topped with Pure Ice "Lightning Strikes", with 1 coat of top coat

In the shade...

This totally reminds me of used foil after you've balled it up, and then try and smooth it out, Love the "used foil" look :)

Pure Ice
"Beware"
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

I could have easily layered this over "Kiss me Here" or "Silver Mercedes", but I honestly like it all by itself. It looks like my nails are "sugar coated", Yummy!

Overall, I like when Pure Ice puts together their existing colors under a common theme, it reinvents each colors, and makes nail polish fun again!  Thanks :) Each color applied nicely, with no real issues. "Silver Mercedes" was a bit streaky, but with careful brush strokes, you can eliminate the streaks.

"Dark, charcoal grey carries with it some of the strength and mystery of black. It is sophisticated color without much of the negative attributes of black.

Ready to see where Pure Ice can take you?"

Pure Ice: Vinyl Remix Review

Pure Ice has released a line of crackles, yeah, I know, you think they are the usual crackle top coats, but these are different, they are "tinted" crackles that change the color of the base nail color.

This is how it works! First apply the base coat...

I applied 2 coats of "Platinum Magic" base coat, so I had no bald spots.  Then I swiped on, in an "x" pattern, the crackle top coat, just to see what the big deal was about...

Wow! This is cool! Oh yeah, I can get behind this. The crackle itself is black, but it tinted the base color pink...sweet! I decided for the other fingers I was going to play around with my "brush stroke" work.

It dries matte like most crackles, so I had to add some clear top coat to add some shine.  :)  There are some great posts about this same collection, where bloggers have combined colors or used different patterns, Frazzle and Anipolish, Liquid Jelly and Colores de Carol are just a  few. :)

I've heard these have been spotted at Walmart. I honestly hate buying polish from Walmart, half the time the polishes have all be opened and "swatched" on" god knows" whose fingers (I hoped they used their fingers) etc.

But hopefully theses are wrapped up in cute little pairs, like they were when they were sent to me. So you know they are perfect and ready for purchase!

Overall , these crackles bring something new to the "crackle table", I think you shouldn't pass them up!

Today I have some fun and cool color combos from Pure Ice.  Pure Ice is a fun brand that can be found at your local Walmart and Walgreens.

First Up, something cool and refreshing...

Winter Crackle and Ice Duo

"Strike A Pose"

2 coats of Silver Glitter with 1 coat of Teal Crackle, fun, fun fun!

The nail is visible in the pictures, but in person, the sparkle of the silver glitter totally covers it!

Now for a little bumble bee magic...

Left to Right: Pure Ice "Excuse Me", "Strobe Light", and "Catwalk".

I used a regular black creme as my base on 2 fingers, and then "Excuse Me" as my base on the other 2 fingers.

Topped with the respective crackles, and wallah!  I love how the 2 yellows, match so well!  It's like an optical illusion! :P

Pure Ice with Lisa Logan

Pure Ice’s Hot Nail Looks Ignite the Runway at Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Fall 2012 Show

Pure Ice by Bari Cosmetics is a line of cutting-edge nail enamels that are always on-trend and in style. As the nail sponsor of Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Fall 2012 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Pure Ice became the go-to for fall and winter’s hottest nail trends. Celebrity manicurist Lisa Logan used a combination of Pure Ice nails colors to achieve a nail look that was rocker-chic and completely unique, keeping in line with the ideals of the Falguni & Shane Peacock brand.

Inspired by dark, edgy glamour, Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection was based on pops of color worked into tribal prints. Since the Falguni & Shane Peacock brand was created with the philosophy that “life is too short to blend in” in mind, it’s no surprise that the nail look was dark yet beautiful with nails that were long, almond-shaped and painted to resemble flames.

Lisa created two nail options for the collection, all utilizing Pure Ice nail enamels, for a combination she described as “really grungy, but couture.” The first option was “Black Rage” (a black shade) as the base of the nail with “Siren” (a fiery red) at the tip, mixed with “Bite Me!” (a shimmery gold) and “Golden Ticket” (a gold glitter) on top. The second option was similar but Lisa used “Siren” as the base with “Black Rage” at the tip with “Bite Me!” and “Golden Ticket” on top. Lisa finished both looks by horizontally using a striping brush to create a look that resembled flames for nails that were bold, unconventional and provocative.

All Pure Ice nail enamels are free of formaldehyde, toluene and DBP and contain Bari Cosmetics’ patented salon long-wear formula for a look that will last all season long. Retailing at only $1.99, these polishes are the perfect way to bring looks from the runway your way!

Gung Hay Fat Choy

Happy Chinese New Year! This is now the year of the Dragon, and very special and auspicious sign.  Fortunately, I have 3 friends who are having a baby in the next couple of weeks and months, and their daughters will all be Dragon baby girls, Congratulations!!!!

Today I have a special manicure, just for the New Year!

"Time to get CRACKING for Chinese New Year!
Chinese New Year is observed for two consecutive weeks, and is popularly known as Spring Festival. It usually starts from late January and early February. The variation in the date of festival is due to the changes in the track of the new moon. The Spring Festival ends on the 15th day when the Lantern festival is celebrated. Pure Ice has a quick and simple nail polish set to help you achieve this perfect look."

Pure ice "Winter Crackle and Ice Duo" Gold with Red Crackle.

1 coat of Pure Ice "Bite Me" and 1 coat of Pure Ice Red Crackle "Show Stopper", all topped off with 1 coat of clear to make it shine! Gorgeous!!!

"In 2012, Chinese New Year Day will be celebrated on January 23. The New Year festival will start from January 22 (Chinese New Year' Eve) and end on February 6 (Lantern Festival). 2012 marks the 4710th Chinese New Year, and this time it is the Year of Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac calendar.
The Dragon is the 5th sign of the Chinese zodiac and it is regarded as an auspicious symbol which stands for power, good luck, success, and happiness."

This manicure is such a great combination of glitz and color, perfect to celebrate the Lunar New year!

"Since ancient times, the Chinese New Year was considered as the time to honor ancestors and heavenly deities. In addition, it was the time to organize family gatherings and grand feasts.
There is a legend associated with the celebration of New Year in China. There was a monster named Nian who used to harass the villagers by eating their crops, cattle and taking away their kids. The villagers had no other option but to place food at the entrance to their homes so that the monster would eat it and go away without harming them.
One day, the villagers realized that the monster was scared of red color. So, they adorned their doors and windows with red paper cutouts and spring scrolls. The villagers also burst crackers to frighten the monster. Since then, Nian never came again to the village. Hongjun Laozu, a Taoist monk, was the one who captured the beast later on. Since then, the Chinese have been celebrating the capture of Nian on their New Year's Day."

"Chinese New Year is celebrated with fireworks, lion dancing, dragon dancing and cultural performances on the street. Families organize reunion dinners on New Year's Eve and make special preparations like spring rolls and Chinese dumplings. "

Happy New Year to everyone, and may the new year bring you health, wealth and overall HAPPINESS!!!!
