Jindie Nails: Summer Chic 2013 Collection, selected swatches and review

It's Monday and I have some fun new glitters for ya. Jindie Nails is about to launch their new Summer Chic 2013 Collection, and it is a real treat!

I swatched four of the five colors from the set.

Left to Right: "Quit Staring at my Melons!", "Betty's Fetti Milkshake", "Hex on the Beach", "Don't Get it Citrus Twisted"

Jindie Nails
"Quit Staring at my Melons!"
2 coats over Barry M Gelly "Grapefruit", 1 coat of top coat.

"Quit Staring at my Melons!" has a clear base with matte kelly green, barbie pink, gray, watermelon pink, black, light green, light pink glitter, with real silver flakes and intense green shimmer. Say that 10x's fast :)

This was very easy to apply over the Barry M.  I had no problem applying the glitter, and getting it off the brush was easy.  I love all of the round glitter in it,  The green and pink shades, remind me of juicy watermelons, LOL!

Jindie Nails
"Betty's Fetti Milkshake"
2 coats, 1 coat of top coat

"Betty's Fetti Milkshake" is a white crelly base with a mix of fun sized rainbow sprinkles. I love this, I love this one sooooo much! :) It applies, so smoothly, no coverage issues, just crelly goodness topped with sprinkles, OH YEAH! The sprinkles do apply a bit bumpy (almost like real sprinkles), so 2 coats of top coat is needed to make this perfectly smooth.  LOVE!

Jindie Nails
"Hex on the Beach"
3 coats, 1 coat of top coat

"Hex on the Beach" has a white crelly base with matte, baby pink, peach, red, orange, pastel yellow, canary yellow, metallic copper & light pink glitter with an added peach shimmer. This applied very easy, and the glitter came out like BUTTAH!  No application issues here, and I love the red and pink diamonds against the neon orange and yellow glitter.  This kind of glitter just screams "SUMMER" to me, I love it!.

Jindie Nails
"Don't Get it Citrus Twisted"
3 coats, 1 coat of top coat

"Don't Get it Citrus Twisted" is a bright neon green crelly with matte kelly green, pastel yellow, canary yellow, neon pink, and baby pink glitter, with gorgeous added silver shimmer.  I love this bright green, this kind of color really "sets off" a tan, perfect for summer.  The baby pink glitter is a nice touch and the silver simmer is really nice and gives this polish sparkle.

I did have a problem applying this to the nail, this is probably due to the fact that I had a mini bottle, and the brush is sometimes too small to apply larger glitter. I had to go "fishin" for glitter, but I got the glitter out, and it was worth it.  I am definitely going to grab a large bottle of this. Also, this glitter is major, so 2 coats of top coat is needed to get a perfectly smooth finish, which I usually do, so no problems there :)

Overall I say grab "Betty's Fetti Milkshake", "Hex on the Beach", and "Don't Get it Citrus Twisted", they are just what the doctor ordered for summer.

My NCLA inspired nails.

Hello!

I saw a picture of a set of nail wraps by NCLA and thought..."I can do that with polish" :)

My manicure is on the left, the NCLA wraps are on the right...Not bad, if I do say so myself!

NCLA

I wore this manicure while my index nail was growing back from a bad break.  I was hoping it would make the nail seem longer, but I think it did the reverse, LOL!!! Oh well...I still like this idea! :)

Essence "That's What I Mint" and Barry M "Watermelon".

I started of with a nice thick coat of Barry M "Watermelon" and then carefully applied 2 coats of Essence "That's What I Mint", in a nice smooth arc on top, leaving the dark green exposed around the entire edge.

I made sure to continue the smooth arc all the way down the sides, being careful to keep the same amount of dark green showing from underneath.

Barry M "Watermelon" is from the Gelly Hi-Shine Collection earlier this year.  It is a dark evergreen creme that dries to a nice high shine.  It applied perfectly, and almost has a Gel like consistency. 1 coat was all I needed for this manicure.

Essence "That's What I Mint", is from their Colour & Go released for Spring 2013.  It is a light mint green creme with silver and green micro-shimmer. The shimmer is very faint on the nail and more prominent in the bottle.

I will have to try this idea again when my nails grow all the way back, and then see if it makes them seem longer or shorter, until then...Keep It Sweet!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine "Satsuma" and KBShimmer

Hello, today I have a juicy manicure to show you!  I wore this 2 weeks ago, and it was a hit!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in "Satsuma", and KBShimmer "Quantum Leaf".

I applied 2 coats of the Barry M, over my usual base coat of OPI "Nail Envy" Matte.  The Barry M applied nicely to the nail.  It was smooth, and gel-like and was a gem to work with, nearly opaque in 1 coat..

Barry M "Satsuma", is a red-toned coral orange, and it very bright, and perfect for the warmer months. A dream to apply, and a dream to wear. Opaque in 2 coats.

Then for the accent nail, I applied 2 healthy coats of KBShimmer.

KBShimmer "Quantum Leaf" is a rustic yellow gold base with orange, copper, gold and red hexes. This polish is meant to mimic the fall leaves  but I felt the brighter tones, went perfectly with the bright Spring colors of "Satsuma".

Also KBShimmer has a new website, with easier to navigate sales pages, customer account pages, order history,  and more importantly you can earn rewards on purchases, Check it out, HERE!

I topped this manicure with my usual 2 coats of top coat, OPI "Top Coat" and Seche Vite.

I wore this for 5 days, but here is a shot of my nails at 3 days.  Check out my tips, minimal tip wear...oh yeah!!!!

KBShimmer and Barry M....the perfect sunken treasure.

Happy Monday!  I had a crappy weekend and I got nothing I wanted done but that only means one thing....This week is gonna rock!

Today I have a cute combo I did using one of my favorite KBShimmer colors "Shipwreck", and one of my new Barry M Gelly's "Blackberry".

Bottle Shot

I first started with 2 coats of Barry M "Gelly" Hi-Shine Nail Paint, which dried to a perfect shine and was perfectly level and smooth.

Bottle Shot

Then, I applied KBShimmer "Shipwreck" to the top of the nail by dabbing it on in 2 coats. KBShimmer "Shipwreck" has a deep blue/green jelly base with multi-shaped glitter in teals, aquas, blues, green purples and even copper. The copper glitter is what "sets it off", and makes this polish look like sunken treasure. :)

Both polishes dried perfectly and layered over one another like they were meant to be together! I loved this manicure! I did have a chip on one nail after 3 days, but by the third day I was ready for a new manicure anyway!

Here are some pics in indirect light.

KBShimmer has the best formula for glitter.  It always applies smoothly, dries in a good time, and delivers the best color combinations, AMAZING! I love it!
