Stripes Revisited!

Yep, I re-did my holiday stripes manicure  I wasn't all too pleased how the first attempt at "stripes" went, and decided to re-do them and make them for symmetrical to each other and I have to say I am very pleased with the results. :)

So pleased I wore this manicure for 5 days, and received compliments almost everyday :)

I started with a 2 coats of Orly "Shine" and then applied the nail striping tape, and painted China Glaze "Ruby Pumps" in between each piece of tape.  I waited 1 minute and then removed the tape and cleaned up the edges with my brush and remover. :)

These pics are after 5 days, and still no major chips and only visible tip-wear!

I did my usual double top coat method, and I also used Orly Bonder over my usual base coat of OPI Nail Envy, to get more wear out of the manicure. :)

Taking more time to make sure the stripes were symmetrical makes a big difference, and the entire manicure looks better :)

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a safe and happy holidays! Here is a cute striped manicure I did for the occasion!

Left to Right: China Glaze "Ruby Pumps", Color Club "Hot Like Lava", Color Club "Perfect Mol-Ten", China Glaze "Emerald Sparkle".

First, I started with 2 coats of the Color Club foil colors. I love foils because they dry fast and give you a lot of sparkle without a lot of work. :)

Then using nail striping tape, I did lines on the nails with spaces in the middle to fill in the second color.  After I finished with that, I painted the 2 China Glaze colors in between the lines and that's it!

You can use nail art striping tape to make lines, or to actually apply to the nail, top with top coat and use as quick nail art, it comes in a variety of colors! :)

Topped it with my usual top coat routine (1 coat of regular top coat, 1 coat of Seche Vite), and I was ready to celebrate the holidays!

This was my first time using nail striping tape, and it definitely will not be my last!

Evergreen Christmas Eve Manciure

Yep it's Christmas Eve and if you are like my family this is just when the festivities start to begin. We have a huge Christmas Eve dinner and invite all our friend s and family over and cook and eat and open some, NOT ALL of the gifts :)

So on this day I'm going to share with you a great green manicure I conjured up a couple days ago. Basically it goes like this, I had several green polishes I wanted to wear and I couldn't decide so I wore them all, LOL...yeah that's it!

Left to Right: China Glaze "Glittering Garland", KBShimmer "All Decked Out", China Glaze "Gussied Up Green".

L to R: China Glaze "Glittering Garland", China Glaze "Gussied Up Green", and KBShimmer "All Decked Out"

Bottle Shot

China Glaze "Glittering Garland" is an evergreen shimmer with green and gold micro-glitter from their 2011 Let It Snow Holiday Collection. Applied well, no issues.

China Glaze "Gussied Up Green" is a dark green shimmer, it's deep and "glowy", and at very rare and certain angled moments you can see flashes of dark blue, in the bottle and the nail.  I did 3 coats, although it was opaque in 2 coats, because I was falling deeper and deeper in love with this fabulous green! :)

KBShimmer "All Decked Out" is an awesome dark green Christmas tree glitter bomb! This is from their 2012 Holiday Collection. A deep forest green is loaded with a mix of colored hexes in various sizes, gold holographic hexes, and a scattering of gold holographic stars.

KBShimmers' are hands down, the easiest glitters to apply. I love how they glide on and I never have to "place" the glitter!!

Amazing glitter, it is so pretty and the stars are just darling :) I love them!  I topped this manicure with my usual 2 coats o top coat and had no issues, except with the darling stars.

The corners of the stars kept poking up just a bit, and I could feel the sans, LOL. Next time I wear this I'll do 3 coats of top coat over this maybe so my stars don't jump off my manicure, LOL! :)

Happy Holidays everyone and Keep It Sweet!
