Nubar "Gem"

What a gem! This is a gorgeous color, and the name fits perfectly!

Nubar "Gem" is from the Nubar Prisms Collection released in 2009. This collection comprised of scattered holographic shimmers.

Nubar "Gem" is a mousy pinkish taupe shimmer with a ton of tiny holographic glitter. This is a scattered holographic, and it is delicate and gorgeous!  It is light and applies thin, so three coats is necessary to get the accurate color you see in the bottle.  The holographic glitter does dry with a very fine grainy texture, so top coat is necessary to smooth it out, I used my usual 2 coats. :)

When the light hits the glitter the right way, this is what you get...

I love this color, it is very feminine and adds the right amount of glitter and slight duo-chrome effect to make it stand out from your average taupe. WIN WIN! :)

Nubar "Jeans Collection"

Hello, today I have one of my favorite little collections. It is not my favorite because it is all holographic colors, nor because it is named after me (yeah, right), it is my favorite because it is BLUE!!!!

This collection was released by Nubar in the Fall of 2011, right after Chanel released their 3 colors in their own Jeans Collection. Well ,since there is a big $$ difference between Chanel ($24 per bottle) and Nubar ($20 for the entire collection), it should come as no surprise why I snagged this set IMMEDIATELY!!!

Left to Right, 2 coats each: "Boyfriend Jeans", "Faded Jeans", and "Dark Wash Jeans", all with top coat. All except 1 applied very well, and had a very gel like consistency. The lighter blue "Faded Jeans" I had to apply thicker than the other too, because as with most light blues, you can get some bald spots. But, the thicker coats worked out well :)

So... I'm sure you are wondering how these compare to the Chanel colors, check out this comparison on Cafe Makeup.  Looking at her swatches, I think they are definitely close enough to justify picking up the Nubar's and leaving the Chanel's behind :) Don't get me wrong I love Chanel, but my love for blues, does not "out trump" my wallet...know what I'm sayin!

Nubar Duochromes!! *picture heavy*

Hello my Sugarbabies!

 Today I have 4 duochrome colors released by Nubar. Now Nubar, has several more duochrome colors in their arsenal, but I only have 4 of them..LOL!

Left to Right: Wildlife, Peacock Feather, Purple Beach and Indigo Illusion.

Now this posts will be picture heavy, because with duochromes each angle you hold your hands at, shows a new surprise color!

First Up....

What I can say about these is best summed up in two neat words, GET THEM !

Seriously you need these, buy them, swap for them, steal if you have to, but get them!!!! LOL!

I checked the Nubar site and "Indigo Illusion", "Purple Beach" and "WildLife", are still available, so grab them while you can :)
