Happy Monday!
Today I have some of the colors from the L'Oreal Miss Candy, Limited Edition Gellie Collection. I found these at my local Rite Aid, but I'm sure you will be spotting them at your local drugstores soon.
These colors are what we call "Jellies". This means they are not opaque without A LOT of coats. They typically are very colorful, but see-thru like "jelly", or "jello". These type of colors are best when layered with other colors, flakies or glitters, and it gives the manicure a very bright and "squishy" look :)
I first saw the collection on"Project Swatch", she swatched 2 of the colors HERE.
Then at lunch I went to the drugstore, and there was the display, brand new and untouched. My dispaly included lip-glosses and eye-shadows too. I grabbed all of the colors, except for the light pink and the light purple. Those are not my kind of colors. :)
All the swatches have the same order of coats (no top coat):
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
"Jolly Lolly"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
Please excuse the lines on my pinkie nail, I inherited them from my father, and they only occur on my pinkie, the other nails are "line-free" LOL.
This applied smoothly and streak free at even 1 coat. The color is very much the color of red candy, bright, fresh and vibrant. My camera made the color more pink, but it is not pink in any way, it is a true lollipop red :)
"Mango Mamma"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
Great squishy orange jelly. Applied the same as the red. I love this one, and I plan on wearing it soon with my favorite gold glitter to create a super sparkly glitter sandwich. :)
"Bananarama Love"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
A softer banana creme yellow jelly. I was hoping to love this one more, but I don;t :( I actually had to apply it twice, because the first time my layers were to thick. Most jellies are best in thinner coats, so it doe not become heavy and goopy on the nail. I wish this was more vibrant, oh well.
"Creme de Mint"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
Oh nice! Soft spring green jelly. This reminds me of the drink "Grasshoppers", which are made of "creme de mint" liquor. :) I don't particularly lie the drink, but the color is very pretty and always reminds me of Spring.
Applied easily, no issues here.
"Miss Pixie"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
Electric blue jelly. You know I love my blues, but this one left me a bit sad. Only because it was streaky at 1 and 2 coats. but after the 3rd coat everything was fine :) I like the brighter blues and I can see myself using this to "Jelly UP" my favorite blue cremes.
"Berry Nice"
Index finger: 4 coats
Ring finger: 3 coats
Middle finger: 2 coats
Pinkie finger: 1 coat
Deep eggplant purple jelly. Sooo pretty in person, the bottle seems like the purple jelly goes on for DAYS! A little streaky in the first 2 coats (less streaky than the blue one), but after that it was perfect!
Overall, I'd grab "Jolly Lolly", "Mango Mamma", "Creme de Mint", Miss Pixie" and "Berry Nice", all of these are essential if you do not have any jelly polishes in your collection. MUST HAVES! The red is my personal favorite!
In the coming weeks I'll show you how these look with my favorite glitters, flakies and cremes, when I create the perfect "jelly sandwiches" :)

Oh my gosh, I love how you changed your background for these ♥♥ I can't wait to get my hands on some of these! My favorite drugstore is usually quick to display the new L'Oreal collections, but not this year, and I'm getting impatient, lol. Anyhoo, thanks for the great swatches!
I was so tempted by these, but didn't pick any up. I might go back for that orange.
I think next time I try to wear the blue, I will wear it w/ white underneath so I don't have to worry about VNL etc.
Great swatches! I got these last weekend, I can't wait to try them out!
I haven't seen a green jelly in this shade, so I really want that one. Thanks for showing them at all coats.
Wow! Thanks for all the comments, I hope this helps in your decision to buy them or not to buy them. Keep It Sweet! :)
Oh gosh Jackie, now I'm going to be hunting for these in every drugstore in NYC. lol
Me and Ernie have cleared out soooooo many of these displays already. The jelly obsession for us continues. I honestly need every backup bottle I can find. For me, though, the "red" jelly was very pink on me. Hot pink, but still pink.
xoxo Scandalous
@Jess- Don't give up the hunt until you find them :)
@wherebeautyisfound- Ahhhh I've missed you soooo much, so happy to read your comment! Keep polishing! :)
