Nicole by OPI and Selena Gomez: Swatches and Review

Singing sensation Selena Gomez has partnered up with Nicole by OPI to give us some smashing new colors for Spring 20123. Are you ready?

Since this collection has 14 polishes, I had to do mini-swatches, 2 at a time on each hand, with some combinations :)

First down the line...

"Stars At Night" and "Mi Fantasia"
3 coats each, no top coat

L to R: "Stars At Night" and "Mi Fantasia"

"Stars At Night" is a silver holographic bar glitter in a clear base. Nothing new or unique, but application was nice and I personally do NOT mind bar glitter, especially topped over my favorite silver or grey! :)

"Mi Fantasia"is a great mix of purple and aqua small round glitter and short bar glitter. I love this combo, and the glitter has a very "periwinkle" tone to it, which I like :)

Both in indirect lighting...

"Kissed At Midnight" and "Confetti Fun"
3 coats each, no top coat

L to R: "Kissed At Midnight" and "Confetti Fun"

"Kissed At Midnight" has multi-sized gold glitter in a clear base. Nothing unique about this topper, but if you need to add a little bling to your manicure, this would be nice :)

"Confetti Fun" is a fun multi-sized and colored glitter party in a clear base. Again, nothing unique  but nice to add to your collection if you do not already have a "party glitter" in your stash.

In indirect lighting...

"Heavenly Angel" and "Sweet Dreams"
3 coats each, no top coat

L to R: "Heavenly Angel" and "Sweet Dreams"

"Heavenly Angel" has iridescent shards in a clear base. Unique?..no, pretty?..yes, if you can get enough other shards on the nail :) Personally I do not like when a polish "topper" only has "shards", I prefer them mixed in with other sized and shaped glitter to create more of a unique effect.

"Sweet Dreams"..now we're talking, LOL!. A violet and teal glitter explosion in a clear base. yep, it's very pretty and I can not wait to use this over my favorite teal shimmer, or in a jelly sandwich :)

In indirect lighting...

"Inner Sparkle" and Selena"
3 coats, no top coat

"Inner Sparkle" is a mix of gold, light pink and lavender glitter in a clear base. Surprisingly this glitter is very pretty and I actually like it considering I do not care for pastels, LOL! This will be amazing layered :)

"Sweet Dreams" is a peachy pink creme. It looks more pink here, but it does have a strong peachy tone :)

Both in indirect lighting...

In this picture you can really see the different colors of the glitter. :)  Then I decided to add an extra layer of glitter over "Sweet Dreams".

Above: "Inner Sparkle" and Selena" topped with 1 coat of "Inner Sparkle". Yep, I really like these 2 layered together, I can't believe I'm saying this about a pastel shade combo, LOL :)

"Hit The Lights" and "Love Song"
2 coats each, no top coat

L to R: "Hit The Lights" and "Love Song"

"Hit the Lights" is a wonderful yellow creme, bright and smooth and (for a yellow polish) surprisingly easy to apply.

"Love Song" is  a nice blue toned, purple creme. It almost has a "neon quality" to it, and reminds me of Color Club "Puccilicious"...Hhmmm. No matter, it's a pretty purple creme and it is perfect for spring :)

Here they are in indirect light, so you can see how much deeper the color is. I am pleasantly surprised that I like them both, color and quality. :)

"Naturally" and "Spring Break"
2 coats each, no top coat

L to R: "Naturally" and "Spring Break"

"Naturally" is a pink creme. Easy to apply, no baldy and streaking.

"Spring Break" is a hot pink creme. Honestly I've seen "hotter" hot pinks, but still...it's nice.

"Pretty In Plum" and "Scarlett"
2 coats each, no top coat.

L to R: "Pretty In Plum" and "Scarlett"

"Pretty In Plum", is a bright red toned purple shimmer. Nothing is unique about this purple, but the application was great, and the color is very pretty and bright. Perfect for my toes :).

"Scarlett", I actually like this name, and I do not know why it has 2 T's? :) Anyway, this is a pretty hot pink glass flecked shimmer. The flecks are smaller, and are more of a blue toned pink shimmer.  Very pretty in person.

Check out "Scarlett" in indirect light...

I like this one and it was easy to apply, but again, not too unique. A perfect pedicure color.

*Whew* These long collections are getting exhausting, LOL!  Nicole by OPI has improved on their formula, and all of these applied well and dried nicely. Overall, none of the colors were very unique, and some of these colors we have definitely seen before, but my favorites are "Hit The Lights", because it is a yellow I can work with, "Sweet Dreams" and "Mi Fantasia".

I'm not into the glitters but I'm in love with all of the pinks, purple & yellow. So pretty.
