Liquid Sand-Pixie Dust-Gumdrop GRADIENT Manicure

Yep, you read that right, I decided to do a GRADIENT manicure using 3 textured colors...did it work out?

I started off with 1 coat of OPI "Solitaire" and then sponged on OPI "Solitaire", Zoya "Nyx" and Nicole by OPI "Blue-berry Sweet On You". No top coat.

I followed THIS tutorial from The Nailasaurus.  Make sure you apply cuticle oil around the nail, on the skin before you start to sponge. This makes removal soooo much easier.

I love textured polish, but I found this combo problematic for one reason.  The lighter colors tend to HOLD onto dirt and anything else that gets on your hands.  I was fighting to keep my nails "stain free", it was horrendous. Imagine that the bumps in textured polish are hands, and they grab a hold of anything your nails come into contact with , lipsticks, strawberry juice, blush etc.  You name it...and it stuck!

I had to use a nail brush to get them clean for the picture, but unfortunately the nail brush removed some of the polish...UUGGHH!!

Next time I do nail art with the lighter textured colors, I will top them with one coat of matte top coat.  The matte top coat may effect the sparkle of the glitter, but at least I won't be fighting my manicure not to look DINGY! LOL! :)

KBShimmer 2013 Summer Collection. Selected swatches and review

Yep, if you haven't heard about this fabulous collection  from KBShimmer, then LISTEN UP... It is amazing!  Here are some swathes of 3 of the 9 FABULOUS colors! Summer, here I come! :)

KBShimmer "24 Carrot Bold" Matte
3 coats, no top coat

"24 Carrot Bold" Matte is a red-orange polish that is a stunning summer color.  This orange polish has a gold micro flake that shines in the light.  This color is super pigmented, so 2 coats is usual, but because I painted my layers thinner, I used 3 coats.

Here are some pics in indirect lighting.

Smooth finish, almost more "rubberized than matte, and the sparkles are visible in the sunlight and low-light.  This does take longer to dry, so be patient or top it with your favorite fast dry top coat for a shiny option, then follow it up with a matte top coat...you decide!. :)

I love this reddish-orange neon, it is amazing!! Bright and smooth, Oh yeah!!!! :)

KBShimmer "Don't Pink Twice" Matte
3 coats, no top coat

"Don't Pink Twice" Matte is a  pink polish with a subtle blue micro flake that shines in the light.  Super smooth and easy to apply.  2 coats is all that is needed to make this baby opaque, but I did 3 thin coats so I could get the maximum "WOW" factor! LOVE!

In indirect lighting.

I am NOT a pink fan, but this one had me HELLO!!!  I applied this color immediately to my toes, amazing!!!

With the flash.

These blue flake really set this polish apart, I can see myself wearing this polish all summer!

KBShimmer "What's Your Damage?"
4 coats, no top coat

Bottle Shot

"What's Your Damage?" is a  white "crelly" (creme/jelly) with neon glitters in pink, green, black and yellow.  The added black shreds give it an added edge. It is suggested that you may want to use a white base for this polish, but I opted to LOAD UP the glitter, and do 4 coats. LOL!

In indirect lighting.

The amazing this about these glitters, are the fact that they dry SMOOTH! It's amazing and refreshing to wear a glitter manicure and not NEED 3 coats of top coat.

And here is the way I decided to wear 2 of the colors...

I topped my manicure with top coat, since I wanted it to LAST!  Those blue flakes are simply gorgeous! I loved this manicure soo much, I wore it for 5 DAYS... no chips! That's love ya'll!! :) This brand is consistently great, formula applies well, dries to a shine, they really do put out a quality product.

Wingin It Lacquer "Spring Fever Collection"

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

Today I have 3 bright and springy colors from Wingin It Lacquer's "Spring Fever Collection".

Wingin It Lacquer "Spring Fling", "Butterfly Fields" and "Spring Fever".

Wingin It Lacquer
"Spring Fling"
3 coats, no top coat.

"Spring Fling" is a pinky light purple with springy matte glitters with some extra flowers thrown in for that added "spring like" effect.  Applied well in 3 coats.  I did have to fish out the flower glitter, but I think this was due to the fact that I had "mini bottles" instead of regular sized bottles.

This was my favorite, I love the "chubby flowers", and I like the bright blue glitter. :)

Wingin It Lacquer
"Butterfly Fields"
3 coats, no top coat

"Butterfly Fields" is a milky yellow base with pink, green, teal and purple glitter.  There are also some added holographic pink butterflies, that may settle to the bottom.  I didn't manage to get any out, but I blame my "mini-bottle" for that :)

I like how this is like a "whisper" of yellow, light, pretty and easy to wear.

"Spring Fever"
3 coats, no top coat.

"Spring Fever" is a soft shimmery mint green with different shapes of matte glitters in a variety of spring colors.  This also has the cute "chubby flowers" in 3 colors, pink, light blue and yellow.  I did not like this colors as much as the first two, but it did apply nicely, and who can be mad at those darn "chubby flowers"
