Zoya Chopping Block: Part 1

Hello Kit-Kats,

This will be a 5 part post where I swatch the polishes I plan to trade to Zoya in the Zoya Nail Polish Exchange. These swatches are the polishes last chance to WOW me (like they did in the store), before I decide to trade them in for something more FABULOUS!

Let the executions begin * insert evil scientist laugh*

Defendants #1 and #2, from Maybelline's Ultimate Wear Collection, "Plum to Pink" and "Rose to Brassy"

Yeah, the names sounds great, visions of lovely duo chrome dancing in my head....then BAM!

"Plum to Pink"

"Plum to Pink"....Pretty right...shimmer is really nice, definitely see the two different colors, right....yeah I know, unfortunately my camera is having a secret love affair with these polishes because it does NOT, I repeat, does NOT look like this to the human eye. I'm not even gonna mention how streaky and sticky this polish was. OYE!

The drying time was extra long as well. This is two coats with no top coat (why add a top coat?..It's a swatch...LOL) Moving on....

"Rose to Brassy"

"Rose to Brassy"

Same application, Same formula, same problems. I'm not denying the duo chrome capabilities of these polishes, what I'm stating is the fact that these polishes are only great in pics. and not in person.

Now when Cosmopolitan calls me because they need me for a cover shoot, because Heidi Klum isn't available...then these are the polishes for me, but since that day will never come...my verdict is...

GUILTY of tricking me to buy it...I think I'll replace theses two with two colors from the Reverie line...oh yeah!

What do you think?

@ Brooke and L- I'm glad it made you laugh and I am very happy I have a blog.:)

@rmcandlelight- I know it looks gorgeous, thats why I bought it, but it was so thick sticky and didn't seem to want to dry, so not worth the time and effort. :)

@ Pinkginger- Exactly!

Ah I wish I could do this swap in the UK. I have a fair few polishes I'd love to swap for Zoyas! Loved this post :D

I'm glad I found your blog - didn't know how to find it when I clicked on your profile on google friend connect before.
I have two of the polishes from this collection - Taupe to Coral and and Red to Copper. My bottle of the first one is half empty because I loved it so. Now of course, I haven't worn it in years, so...
Well at least you'll be exchanging these for goodies! I'm avoiding the Zoya exchange. I have too much polish already!

@ Rebecca- Zoya does not send to the UK? No bueno! :(

@ Another bottle of polish- I'm glad to hear someone else has polishes from the same collection, the two you have sound really nice, especially "red to copper" :)
