Personal Microderm Review with Promo-Code

PMD Personal Microderm is an at home microdermabrasion machine and kit.

'PMD Personal Microderm allow you to achieve the skin rejuvenation and anti-aging results of a professional microdermabrasion treatment in the convenience of your own home.  This system reveals younger looking skin by using the same aluminum oxide crystals found in the equipment at the doctor's office. It smooths away dead skin cells, diminishing age spots and other signs of aging."

I had professional microdermabrasion done years ago, and it really damaged my skin.  I had scarring, discoloration and hyper pigmentation.  Eventually it went away, but for weeks I had to deal with a discolored face and scabbing...no bueno!

When the company approached me about reviewing their product i was SERIOUSLY skeptical, but once I received it, and watched the instructional DVD, I decided to give it a try!

A while back I tried the supplement Biotin, to help strengthen my nails.  Well, my nails got stronger, but one of the side effects are skin break-outs and I had it!  I stopped taking the biotin immediately, but the scars from the break outs remained.

Here they are:

BEFORE

They are easily covered up with makeup, and are smooth, but they are still there. :(, and they are predominant on only one side of my face..LOL.

Okay so here is what the device looks like:

It's about the size of a microphone and fit comfortably in the hand. There is an outlet and cord that plug into the wall, so no annoying batteries to charge or charger stand to set-up.

Easy on off switch, no "setting levels" to worry about, just "on", and "off".  And when the unit is on, it sounds like an electric toothbrush.

This is what the "head" looks like with out the attachments.

Then you add the felt disk.  This ensures that all the dead skin cells do not get down into the machine.  After every use you just rinse this off under cool water, and let air dry between uses.

This is the BLUE attachment.  With the kit you get 2 different colored attachments, BLUE is "sensitive"  and GREEN is "medium". First time users, should always start off with BLUE

You can buy an additional RED attachment for "coarse"

The attachments come in 2 sizes.   Large for larger areas of the face and body and the small one for small areas of the face, like the crease in the nose and around the mouth.

There is also a protective cap that must be applied before every use.  This provides the suction needed for the discs to have contact with the skin.

Use was super easy: Once a week, I washed my face and dried it.

Then, using CONTINUOUS strokes while keeping the skin tight with one hand, you glide the unit over your face, avoiding the eye areas.  I only went over each area ONCE, and I never HOVERED IN ONE SPOT.

All in all, this process took 15 minutes and my skin was super soft after every use.  I've done this 3 times and I can see a lightening in the spots already.

AFTER

I'm definitely adding the PMD process to my weekly at-home spa treatments.

The PMDsystem includes 1 personal microderm, 5 exfoliating discs (2 green and 3 blue), 1 electric cord (Standard U.S. Outlet), 1 facial cap, 1 body cap, 1 reusable filter, Instructional CD and Pamphlet.

"This is ideal for those with fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, skin discolorations, and other imperfections who want smooth, even-toned skin."

And for my lovely readers they are offering $30 off coupon – with the Promo-Code: COATED30 (It expires on Sept. 26th)

You can get it HERE, at Personalmicroderm.com :)

Nail Polish Jewelry by Cara

Hello my lovely Sugar babies..LOL! Today I have some nail polish...jewelry!

I was contacted by the lovely and talented Cara who has an Etsy Shop called Workshop 760, and she sells necklaces with pendants colored and made from some of our favorite nail polishes!

"nearly 20 years of jewelry making experience! These nail polish gems have been individually created out of the highest quality nail polishes that are considered to be favorite colors of polish lovers. Each one is polished by hand to high shine and captures the beauty of the nail polish permanently. This is nail polish encased inside a polished resin gem, not just painted on the back of glass or acrylic, they are permanent and water resistant. Each pendant comes with a hand made beaded black necklace also created by me, not purchased in bulk from Asia."

I specifically requested she send me colors I had in my stash so we could see how the polish translates from the nail to the pendant. :)

Orly "Space Cadet"

This pendant is set on a string of duo-chrome beads that match the dark "spacey" tones of "Space Cadet".  Every necklace comes is super cute packaging, and the best part is no matter how large the pendant may seem, it's not heavy...in fact it's really light and easy to wear.:)...and look at that shimmer!!!

Here is the pendant with my manicure of "Space Cadet", 3 coats

Although the pendant and the polish (on the nail) do not translate the same, I love how the pendant down plays the deeper green tones in the polish and brings out more of the pink and orange flashes...AWESOME!

In fact this one reminds me of MAC "Bad Fairy"....what-a-beauty!!!

Next up LAgirl Rockstar "Punk"

This pendant is set on a string of black matte beads that really allow the shiny quality of "PUNK" to shine!!!
How do you think this one will compare to the same color on the nail?.....here it is with my "Punk manicure", 2 coats :)

LOVE IT!!!! Perfect match!!!  "Punk" has great purple duo-chrome action that is best seen in low-light, so here it is...

I tried to hold the pendant and my nail BOTH at the same angle, while taking a picture....but I got a hand cramp..LOL, but if you look at my nail tip in the above pic, you'll see the purple flash in the nail tip as well..LOL!

I am in love with this jewelry, and the best part is she can do several different shapes and sizes, and each one hand made and unique! Also, if you have an idea for a piece you do not see, you can email thru the site and request a custom piece. :)

This is a great gift for any polish lover, or anyone who loves pretty and unique items. It is a great way to enjoy your favorite color..ALL THE TIME!!!!

Cara is a fellow "nail head", so you know, she has a "love for color" as much as we do:

"I am constantly inspired by different mediums, and over the past few years nail polish has grabbed my attention. I paint my nails a new color almost every night. Some of the nail polishes available on the market now are truly breathtaking. I wanted to try to capture their beauty in a way that was a bit more permanent than just painting it on my fingertips. So I experimented and played around until I found a process that did just that. These are not just painted pieces of glass or acrylic! These are made by encasing the nail polish inside resin gems. Each piece is unique and I have hand polished each stone to a mirror shine. I use the highest quality nail polish available and each necklace that comes with the pendant is handmade by me, not ordered in bulk from Asia. These necklaces are truly unique and will last a long time if properly cared for."

All her pendants range from $18.00- $55.00, and you can order them HERE.  She ships in the US and International, and payment can be made using Paypal.

I love both of my pieces and I can not thank Cara enough for allowing me to review her priceless works of art. :)

Zoya: Touch Collection Limited Edition 2011, Swatches and Review

The Touch Collection by Zoya: 3 Perfect Nude Colors

"Zoya Nail Polish presents 3 new, full coverage nude creams-softly kissed with a touch of metallic to make them ultra wearable and dynamic. Soft, Sensual, Sexy and Elegant."

Note: All manicures have 1 coat of base coat and NO top coat!

First up is Zoya "Minka" - 2 coats

"Zoya Nail Polish in Minka can be best described as: A pale, milky beige nude with yellow undertones and a hint of pearly silver shimmer. An opaque, full-coverage nude, especially flattering on skin with neutral and olive tones."

Next, Zoya "Shay"- 2 coats

"Zoya Nail Polish in Shay can be best described as: A dense, fleshy light peach with slight orange-red undertones and a hint of pearly silver shimmer. An opaque, full-coverage nude that compliments warm skin tones."

 Lastly, Zoya "Pandora"- 2 coats

"Zoya Nail Polish in Pandora can be best described as: A medium pink-beige nude with blue and mauve undertones and a hint of pearly silver shimmer. An opaque, full-coverage nude that works beautifully on skin with cool tones."

I found all three formulas to be a bit looser and more runny than the usual Zoya formula. I had some pooling issues along my cuticle while painting them, but if you are more careful, you can avoid this :)

They all leveled off nicely and left no streaks or brush strokes behind.  I loved how these are essentially frost, without all the "frost"..know what I mean.LOL :P

They have a subtle frost  texture which gives them a very "metallic-like" coating. Nice and subtle. My favorite is Shay, this is a neutral shade I can see myself wearing. Minka is a bit too yellow for me and Pandora is a bit too pink for my taste,  but Shay is JUST RIGHT!

I like how each one is so different that any person can find a shade among these 3 that would work for them.Good Job Zoya!

"Find Zoya TOUCH as well as over 300 other ultra high-fashion Zoya shades at www.zoya.com. As always, each and every Zoya color is made for women so we name them after women."

Review and Coupon Code: Beauty Express Mall

Beauty Express Mall is an online retailer that carries a full line of Crackle Glaze nail polish by Sassy Nails in 9 different colors, including exciting colors like neon yellow and sea green..Woo Hoo!

I have today the color "Candy Red".

The instructions are very specific, the crackle glaze must be applied within 4 minutes after the base color has been applied. Different from the instructions for the other Crackle polishes we've seen. Wet polish is best!!

So I quickly applied 2 coats of my base color, China Glaze "Papaya Punch" and then one coat of "Candy Red"

This is VERY different than the crackles by OPI and China Glaze.  The cracks are smaller and more "low-key" and subtle.  I REALLY like it!!! My favorite part is that it dries super super shiny!

The formula is smoother and more "sleek",  than other crackles. It applies like regular polish basically, which makes application a BREEZE!!!

Look at those great little cracks peaking thru...definitely different and unique and for those ladies who do not like the bigger cracks, this is for you :)

Beauty Express Mall offers this is jet black, sea green. dark blue, neon yellow, candy red, golden yellow, midnight purple, CLEAR, sky blue...yeah you heard me..CLEAR!!! I want that one!!!!

I can see it now.....matte nail polish with a clear crackle...AWESOME..GENIUS!!!!

Next time I will do one nail at a time, to make sure the base polish is still really wet.  I wonder if the cracks will be different?! Stay tuned!

So go get you some of these beauties and  for my readers Beauty Express Mall is offering 30% off all products with the code  NAILPOLISH30.

They also carry, nail art pens, glitter polish pens with rhinestones and various other beauty care items.  Check them out, Beauty Express Mall.

The Dr. is In!

I have a review today of a really different nail lacquer line, the birth-child of 2 New York based podiatrists, Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel, Dr.'s REMEDY.

"The birth of Dr.'s REMEDY® began with a warning. Dr. Cirlincione's wife was pregnant and advised against using hair dyes, eating certain foods, and being exposed to harsh chemicals. Dr. Cirlincione began to research the toxins contained in most commercial nail polish, which is commonly used by pregnant women. It became obvious that formaldehyde, toluene and DBP are not only linked to serious health problems, but also potentially damaging to the nail as well.

Dr. Cirlincione partnered with Dr. Spielfogel and together they formulated Dr.'s REMEDY®, free from THE BIG 3, but also UNIQUELY ENRICHED with ingredients, such as tea tree oil and garlic bulb extract, which are naturally occurring anti-fungal, antibacterial, and healthier for the nail.

Not only is Dr.'s REMEDY® better for you, it comes in a rainbow of today's most fashionable colors.

•Enhanced with naturally occurring anti-fungal ingredients and vitamins to promote healthier nails.

•Appealing to women with discolored nails, pregnant women, or parents looking for safer alternatives for their children.

•Allergen friendly for those sensitive to chemicals in commercial nail polish.

•Enriched means a stronger, healthier looking nail, which is appealing to everyone."

First up...

"Revive"
2 coats, no top coat

Revive is described as a ruby red shimmer infused Wizard of Oz inspired shade of crimson. A great red shimmer-frost.  I'm sure there  are other similar colors, but can they say they are enriched with tea tree oil, vitamins and wheat protein?...I don't think so :) The 2nd coat is key to this color it really does a great job eliminating brush-strokes.

"Desire"
2 coats, no top coat

Desire is described as a cocoa meets hot fudge handsome hue.  I honestly was ready to hate this color on my skin, but it's rich tones really appeal to me. Smooth, creamy, gorgeous. I really like this chocolaty colored creme, 2 coats, no issues :)

"Healing"
2 coats, no top coat

Healing is described as a seductive pewter with deep blue undertones.  I may not agree with the description, but I know one thing....I love greys and I love THIS grey too. The 1st coat had bald spots but the 2nd coat covered them up perfectly.

There is also another color on their site that I REALLY want, it's called "Vigor" and it's described as a vibrant bluish-purple....I sooooo want that color. :)

Dr.'s REMEDY nail colors are free from toxins found in most commercial nail polish ( DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde).  Dr.'s REMEDY Enriched Nail Polish is available for $16 online at http://www.remedynails.com/ or by calling 1-877-323-NAIL.
