Color Club: Take Wing Collection Summer 2012: Swatches and Review

Introducing the Take Wing Collection from Color Club

I needed 3 coats with the colors, but it was worth every coat. All of them are super vibrant and perfect for Summer. :)

"Daisy Does It"
3 coats, no top coat

Gorgeous bright lemon yellow shimmer, super smooth and easy to apply. 3 coats for opacity.

"Sparkle and Soar"
3 coats, no top coat

The perfect citrus orange shimmer, with a lovely golden flash.  3 coats for full opacity, and application was smooth and flawless.

"Fly with Me"
3 coats, no top coat

I am seriously in love with this cool lime green shimmer,this color is fresh and bright, and simply perfect for summer. Good job on this color!

"Metamorphosis"
3 coats, no top coat

This aqua shimmer is HOT! Beautiful aqua green shimmer, and that flash of teal blue shimmer is amazing! Very pretty!


"Sky High"
3 coats, no top coat

I love my blues, and this is no exception! It's gorgeous in the sun with flashes of electric blue,  but in the shade it's even better.

Beautiful blue shimmer with a slight purple duo-chrome flash! LOVE!!!!!

"Wing Fling"
3 coats, no top coat

Bright pink shimmer, not terribly unique but gorgeous on my hands.  I have to admit, I;m liking this color!!

Overall, all the colors were super smooth and "gel-like" to apply! No issues with pooling, or drag. My only gripe is that I wish these were more opaque in  2 coats, rather then 3 coats.  But that still should not stop you from buying them, they are really, really, pretty!

True, some of these colors are similar to other brands released in the past, but that does not detract from how truly pretty and perfect they are for summer.

My favorites are "Wing Fling", "Sky High" and "Fly with Me". :) These colors have been popping up at Rite Aid drug stores all over the US.

COCO RAE: "Nahla Bahla"

Hello lacquer heads!

Today I have a new polish line to share with you, Coco Rae.  I was contacted by the owner Courtney to help get the word out about her new polish line "Coco Rae".  Courtney is a fellow lacquer lover, like the rest of us, and decided to start her own line, because of her love for bright and soft colors. She believes that nail polish is a big accessory to every outfit and wants to brighten every one's world, one polish at a time!

Coco Rae is 4-FREE and does NOT contain and Toulene, Formaldehyde, Camphor nor any Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)....big ups for this!!

"Nahla Bahla"

"Nahla Bahla" is a bright raspberry creme that dried to a shiny and glossy shine! This color was named after her daughter, Nahla, a beautiful name for a beautiful girl and a beautiful polish!  At the age of 3, she is a polish afficianado, Awesome!

The formula was very smooth and easy to handle. This color is perfect for summer, and is going to be my next pedi color :)

This color is just 1 of 12 fabulous colors that are part of the "Coco Rae" core line. The core line contains, cremes, shimmers and glitters. There are 2 blue lacquers in her line that I may have to try out, you know how I love my blues!!!! :P

Not only does the polish have a great formula, the handle of the brush was comfortable and made the application easy and simple.

See...no crazy "stray strands" sticking out like some polish brands! :)

What I like most about this polish, is the fact that you can get a polish that is 4-FREE and still have a great formula and vibrant colors, good job Courtney! She has a color in her line for everyone.  :)

Hedy's Ma.Nish.Ma Neon Matte Collection Swatches

Today I have a cute little collection that I found at my local Rite Aid drugstore. This is my first time trying out the brand, but from what my polish buddies have told me it's pretty good. :)

Put on your shades, and be prepared to be blinded!!

"Nuclear Pink"
2 coats, base coat, no top coat

Neon pink matte color, no shimmer, just super bright smooth color!

"High Voltage"
2 coats, base coat, no top coat

This neon deep orange is a lot brighter than my pictures depict.  My camera lens was going nuts trying to focus on this color. LOL!

"Lightening"
2 coats, base coat, no top coat

Love, love love this super bright sunflower yellow color. I love this because it is not the typical "highlighter yellow" we see when a polish collection as a "neon yellow".  So pretty, and went on smoothly, no issues. :P

"Rocket Green"
2 coats, base coat, no top coat

This neon green has awesome shimmer, smooth application and super pigmented color, makes this a win win for me!

"Bolts of Blue"
2 coats base coat, no top coat

This is a bright neon teal shimmer. I actually didn't purchase this one for me. I purchased it for my girl Jenn B., but once I got home I knew I should have purchased it just for the review, so Jenn B. was super sweet and said I could swatch her bottle. Thanks Hun!!!

"Electric Blue"
2 coats, base coat, no top coat

Love, this bright blue shimmer, so pretty. I don't know if I'd consider it neon, but it's bright and it's blue, and it's gorgeous!

Overall, I am super impressed with this collection, super bright, easy to apply, and dried nicely.  The brush wasn't bad either, super easy to control, and at $2.99 these polishes are worth hunting down. :) Thanks again to my poor camera for suffering thru the picture taking process, and thanks to Jenn B. for letting me swatch her bottle of  "Bolts of Blue"
