Get Bonded !

Get Bonded with OPI’s Bond Manicure for Holidays, as seen on Skyfall’s Bond Girl Bérénice Marlohe

For sexy, sophisticated nail designs this holiday season, OPI launches Get Bonded, a set featuring three lacquers from the Skyfall Collection, to get the Bond manicure, as seen on Bérénice Marlohe in the latest James Bond installment. With Skyfall, a rich maroon, painted on top of the nail and GoldenEye, a shimmering gold, painted on the undersides, Marlohe’s luxurious manicure offers a glamorous final touch to any holiday look.  Get Bonded also includes The Spy Who Loved Me, which can be worn instead of Skyfall for a vibrant red nail.

“The Bond manicure is the hottest look of the season,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Inspired by the film’s blend of elegance and danger, this manicure looks like a timeless classic at first glance, but has an unexpected twist. If your nails aren’t long enough to wear Bérénice’s manicure, I suggest wearing either shade with GoldenEye painted along the tip or moon for a pop of shimmering color, or layering one coat of GoldenEye over either The Spy Who Loved Me or Skyfall for a multi-faceted, glittering look.”

As with all OPI nail lacquers, Get Bonded lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.

This limited edition promotion will be available beginning November 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $19.95 ($24.95 CAN) suggested retail for each set.

Time to release the DRAGON!

I can't hold back any longer!!!!

I have been on a HUGE glitter kick lately, and Gliltzology has been my weapon of choice!!

Today I'm showing you the first of many Glitzology manicures to come...Glitzology "Baby Dragon".

Love, love, loved this manicure! I decided to layer 2 coats of Glitzology "Baby Dragon" over 1 coat of China Glaze "Jolly Holly". AMAZING!!!

Glitzology "Baby Dragon" is a glitter polish in a clear base with fuchsia glitter, purple matte glitter, and lots and lots of fuchsia, green, and purple shreds!.

Bottle Shot

China Glaze "Jolly Holly" is  from their Holiday 2010 Collection, and is a darkened emerald green with lighter green shimmer. It has warm tones and was the perfect base for my dragon, it applied smoothly and was easy to get opaque in 1 coat..

Bottle Shot

But BE afraid! This Dragon is HUNGRY!!!! I topped this baby off with 3 coats of top coat. Yep, 1 coat of Gelish and then 2 coats of Seche Vite. Also, I opted to thin this with 10 drops of nail polish thinner from Sally's.

The thinner isn't necessary to get great application, but I find if you thin it, then the glitter does not clump during application!

Don't get me wrong, application was great and the glitter applied to the nail like a magnet, it was amazing!!!

Here are some shots in indirect lighting, so you can see the glitter detail. :)

Oh man, did I love this manicure, I wore it for 5 days, CHIP FREE! Definitely worth the 3 top coats.

Right now Glitzology is having another one of her FABULOUS $5 bottle sales. All bottles are $5 BUCKS!!!!

Go, Go Go, NOW!!!! I've already purchased 8 bottles, and I just bought another 7 today!

RGB "OxBlood"

This is the first time I am re-wearing a color and showing it to you, LOL!  OxBlood is a hot color right now, check out this posting by EGNailsIt...yep, OxBlood is the new black!

My first attempt/swatch of this is HERE, and let's just say, that was a long, long time ago. My nails and nail care routine have changed so much, my nails grow longer, stronger now than they ever did.

But enough about my nails, here is the fabulous color RGB "OxBlood" :)

RGB "OxBlood" 3 coats with top coat.

These pics were after 3 days had already gone by, and as you can see there are no chips, some scratches ...but still no chips! :)

RGB "OxBlood" is a dark red wine jelly, yeah I said "jelly"!!!! It takes 3 coats to remove all the "bald spots", but it goes n smoothly and easily, and offers no application issues. :)

RGB tends to shrink when I use Seche Vite, so I layered Seche Vite over a regular top coat of OPI. :)

To makes sure this color was perfect, I did my usual 2 coats of top coat, and on the 3rd day this manicure was so perfect, I wore it to the movie "Breaking Dawn", opening night!  I figured the blood red wine color was perfect given the Vampire theme, LOL!

Nicole by OPI-CVS Exclusives, Swatches and Review

Here are the swatches for the newest colors exclusive to CVS drugstore.  Nicole by OPI likes to describe them as the "new neutrals". :)

NOPI "I Sea You And Raise You"
2 coats, no top coat

Finally someone else believes that blue is the perfect neutral, besides me, LOL :) I literally fell in love with this shade and I wore it a couple days after swatching it and loved it even more. I know you may have something in your stash that is close, but come on it's a blue!!!  This is a such a great ocean blue creme, it reminds me of Caribbean waters...Aahhhh take me back to Bali! :)

NOPI "Always A Silver Lining"
3 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

This is a very pretty silver shimmer, not too flat and not too "foil like"...it's just right.  :) I did have some issues with bald spots and dragging at 2 coats, so I had to wait a minute before applying the 3rd and final coat. This is very pretty, I can see myself wearing this again.

NOPI "Don't Overpink It"
3 coats, no top coat

Nothing new about pink being neutral, but you can't deny that it does deliver that "pop"of girly glamour that some gals need to perk up their tips :) I had some "bald spot" issues at 2 coats, but a 3rd coat made it all better :)

NOPI "Feeling Grapeful"
2 coats, no top coat

This is so pretty in person. Creamy, bright  and smooth. True, the color is not the most unique, but you definitely need a color like this in your stash. :)

NOPI "A Pinker Shade Of Pale"
2 coats, no top coat

This is a truly romantic neutral pale pink.  Very frosty and easy to wear, but still this shade doesn't "wow" me...does it "wow" you? :)

NOPI "Personally Speaking..."
2 coats, no top coat

This is a neutral rose pink. The shimmer in this is very complimentary to the skin, and the brush strokes are minimal, and the colors is just plain feminine and pretty!  Very wearable! :)

NOPI "Marooned In Paradise"
3 coats, no top coat

This is a very pretty darkened berry shimmer. I did have some "bald spot" issues at 2 coats, so a 3rd coat was necessary to take care of those.

Overall the collection is a nice reminder of how we can take the term "neutral" to another level.  I did have application issues with some, but the formula and shades were nice. Overall most of the colors are nothing new, but if I were you I would grab "Personally Speaking..." and "Always A Silver Lining", these are necessary.

So, say "bye bye" to boring mauves and tans, and  "so long" to taupe's...and say "HELLO" to blues, silvers and rosy pinks :)

Nicole by OPI nail lacquers and Nail Treatments contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality. These new CVS-exclusive shades will be available November 2012 for $7.99 each at select CVS locations nationwide.

Gold, Gold, Gold...Comparison.

Hey there, today I have a gold comparison. With the addition of gold in a lot of the holiday collections this year, I decided to do a comparison to other golds that have been released in past years.

I had a discussion with a lovely nail board member on MUA about a comparison between the gold from Zoya and the new gold from OPI, and it hit me that there may be more golds that are close to the Zoya.

Okay, enough talk...

Left to Right: Orly "Luxe", Zoya "Ziv", O.P.I "Glitzerland", and O.P.I. "Goldeneye".

All swatches are without topcoat.

Orly "Luxe" 2 coats, Zoya "Ziv" 2 coats, O.P.I "Glitzerland" 3 coats, and O.P.I. "Goldeneye" 2 coats.

Orly "Luxe" 2 coats, Zoya "Ziv" 2 coats

O.P.I "Glitzerland" 3 coats, and O.P.I. "Goldeneye" 2 coats

In indirect light: Orly "Luxe" 2 coats, Zoya "Ziv" 2 coats, O.P.I "Glitzerland" 3 coats, and O.P.I. "Goldeneye" 2 coats.

In indirect light:  Orly "Luxe" 2 coats, Zoya "Ziv" 2 coats, O.P.I "Glitzerland" 3 coats

Orly "Luxe" 2 coats, Zoya "Ziv" 2 coats, O.P.I "Glitzerland" 3 coats

As you can see Zoya "Ziv" and OPI "Goldeneye" are unique and distinct enough to own both, if you like golds. :)

The Orly and OPI "Glitzerland" are actually very close in color but the texture is very different.  Orly "Luxe" is more yellow gold and "Glitzerland" is very antiqued gold and silver in tone, and the OPI took 3 coats to make it opaque.

Either way, here you can see what you my already have and what you may need. Given the holiday is upon us, you need to have a gold in your collection...just sayin  :)
