Essence "Vampire's Love"

Today I have 2 colors from this collection.  I received them in a recent international swap as extras.  Yes, I said extras, boy was I happy to get my hooks into these babies!

Released in the Fall of 2011, these polishes made a big splash on the polish scene, not only because the colors were gorgeous, but with all of the vampire movies and shows, the title garnered much praise. :)

"Gold Old Buffy"
2 coats, no top coat

Definitely an old gold green with a lot of dark gold shimmer. I've seen the swatches of this collection and this is the standout in the collection, by far.  The formula was good, and I had no issues, applied nicely in 2 coats.

It looks similar to L'Oreal "Owl's Night" (below) ...

But "Owl's Night" is lacking the vampy quality that "Old Gold Buffy" has. Plus "Old Gold Buffy" has a darker base and the gold flakes are much larger, but both are stunning!

"Into The Dark"
2 coats, no top coat

Dusty grey blue sparkler. So pretty, seriously, very pretty! The formula was easy to apply, and almost perfect in 1 coat, but 2 was necessary to prevent bald spots :)

I'm glad I received these 2 colors in the swap, they happened to be my favorites from this collection.

Now that February is coming to an end..bring on the greens of March, baby!

OPI DS "Vintage"

I have a little holo treat for ya!

Today I have a lovely holographic polish I had purchased for me by one of my fellow bloggers.  I have several OPI DS polishes, but this is one that I needed to add to my collection.

OPI DS "Vintage"
 3 coats

3 coats was not required (2 was perfect for opacity), but most OPI DS holographic colors are thinner in formula, so you can get away with 3 coats. :)

OPI DS "Vintage" is a pink-peach prismatic, holographic wonder! So feminine it would make a monkey's hand look spectacular. :P

I topped this with the OPI DS Top Coat, so that the holographic effect would not be subdued, and then a final coat of Seche Vite :)

This is my 18th "OPI DS" color, and to think there are sooo many more colors in the DS line (I think over 40 colors)..LOL!

So far this is what I have:

DS Sapphire
DS Vintage
DS Perfection
DS Fantasy
DS Glamour
DS Treasure
DS Exclusive
DS Original
DS Royal
DS Extravagance
DS Glow
DS Desire
DS Magic
DS Shimmer
DS Coronation
DS Mystery
DS Temptation
DS Bold

Think I need more?....of course I do!

OPI Walks Oscar Red Carpet with Stacy Keibler and Amy Adams

Last night, former wrestler and actress Stacy Keibler and The Muppets star Amy Adams both walked the 84th Annual Academy Awards red carpet wearing OPI nail lacquer in Samoan Sand on their hands.

This nude hue, which complemented the ladies’ respective gold and silver dresses, is a favorite of celebrities and fashion designers alike.

NEW collection inspired by Kim Kardashian, Well-Kim to My World: Swatches and Review

"Wel-Kim to My World"

Here is the new Nicole by OPI Collection inspired by Kim Kardashian.

"Here Kim's the Sun"
 2 coats, no top coat

This is definitely too sheer to wear alone, but on top of another color I think it will deliver a lot of "sun soaked" sparkle!

"Kim Konfidential"
 2 coats, no top coat

This is a pretty peach nude creme. They describe it as "honey-nude" and I think that is perfect, plus I love honey..hee hee!.  Nothing incredibly new about this nude, but still a nice color to brighten things up for spring.

I decided to add "Here Kim's the Sun", on top, 1 coat.

These pics don't show much in the way of sparkle, but in indirect sunlight (below), it's a stunner :)

Wowza! These 2 colors were made for one another. Honey nude coated in shimmering "sun soaked" sparkle. :)

Up & Kim-ing Pink
2 coats, no top coat

Pretty spring like pink. Not terribly unique, and the application was a bit thick on the 2nd coat, but nothing careful application could not take care of.  Still it is perfect for spring, but it's not my kind of color.

Nothing Kim-pares to Blue
2 coats, no top coat

This blue-lilac shimmer stunner is amazing. So pretty. and applied nicely in 2 coats.

Lights, Kim-era, Action!
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade, it take on a great metallic finish.

In indirect sunlight, it looks like a perfect pearl.

This is a perfect pearl polish, without the streaks and without the overly "sheer-like" consistency.  I really like this color.

Others Pale By Kim-parison
2 coats, no top coat

This nude is more of a creamy off-white, which applied nicely in 2 coats for a white polish.

I decided to top this with "Here Kim's the Sun".

Overall this collection is light and bright and a perfect palette cleanser after all those dark vampy winter colors. The perfect pop of subtle color.

Although these types of cremes are not my favorite, they are still pretty and a welcome addition to any spring wardrobe.

My favorites are "Nothing Kim-pares to Blue", "Lights, Kim-era, Action"  and "Here Kim's the Sun".

Pretty & Polished "Party on my Yacht"

Hey ya'll! :)

Today I have a treat for you.  Today I will be sharing an amazing polish I recently purchased from Chelsea at Pretty & Polished, if you don't know?...you better know!!! :)

Pretty & Polished
"Party on my Yacht" 2 coats over 1 coat of Zoya "Snow White".

Because this was my first time wearing PomY, I was not sure if it was opaque in 2 coats, so I layered it over the Zoya.  But I should have known, Chelsea knows her polish, and it is certainly opaque in 2 coats *head smack* :)

Chelsea says this, "Named "Party on my Yacht" because of the gorgeous champagne colored sparkles and brightly colored "summer shore" colors. This gorgeous polish goes on a bit sheer with one coat but with two you have full coverage! Easy to apply, easy to tame, and always gorgeous!"

Because I layered 2 coats over Zoya, it caused tiny little bubbles, but next time PomY is going solo!!!! I wore this manicure for 4 days, no chips and I hated taking it off!

You can get PomY at Pretty & Polished on Etsy :), or click my link, in the sidebar, on the right. This color is super easy to apply, no issues and it dries nice and smooth, so this glitter IS NOT a "top coat eating monster"...LOL :)

Look at That! Champagne gold, pink, purple and green glitter with added blue bar glitter! Gorgeous!

It's like a party in a bottle! Oh how I loved this manicure, so cute and so fun for Spring! I think I have a new favorite!!!!

Happy Friday!
