China Glaze Prismatic Chroma Glitters Collection Spring 2012: Swatches

Hello there, yesterday I had the Wet N Wild "Coloricon Be Jeweled" Collection, and today I have their "kissin cousin" the China Glaze "Prismatics"!

Quick Note: I swapped with other gals for all the bottles, except for "Liquid Crystal"  (on the far left), which I purchased at ULTA, after getting the others. It kinda sucks that these were released with 2 different bottle caps, but in the end, I got them all, LOL! :)

China Glaze
"Liquid Crystal"
2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

My favorite! Opaque in 2 coats, bright baby blue holographic glitter, with pieces of mutli-colored glitter. This lovely flashes bright purple in the right light and in the shade, very nice!

China Glaze
"Prism"
2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

Purple holographic glitter with multi-colored additional glitter. Although there are strong blue undertones in the base glitter, the little flashes of pink are the winner!

China Glaze
"Ray-Diant"
2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

This one is interesting, it starts off as a very light lime green/gold colored glitter, but in the shade it springs forward as a golden lemon green. Gorgeous! I like this one!

China Glaze
"Full Spectrum"
 2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

This one is cool, baby pink glitter with multi-colored glitter.  This beauty slightly flashes magenta and I have to admit, even though it is uber thin, this one is way, way better in the shade/ indirect light, not bad!

China Glaze
"Optical Illusion"
2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

Second favorite! Aqua green holographic glitter with mutli-colored glitter. This is very cool and in indirect light looks more apple green than aqua green. In the light, there are slight flashes of teal blue and purple, very pretty! If I were a mermaid or a fish this is what I'd want my scales to look like!

and last but not least...

China Glaze
"Polarized"
2 coats, no top coat

In indirect light...

Silver glitter with multi-colored glitter.  This has no flash, no fan fare but still, very pretty!

All the glitter dried to a "bumpy shine", but to get these "glass smooth" you will need a thick coat of top coat. These definitely dry smoother than your average glitter, so they are way better at being smoothed out. :)

They all were easy to apply and went on smoothly, not like the usual glitter mess that is bumpy and thick! Also these polishes do not have a strong duo-chrome" effect like the Wet n Wilds, not strong flashes of color, just mild flickers. :) Overall grab my favorites "Optical Illusion",  and "Liquid Crystal", those are true winners!

Stay tuned, tomorrow is the show down between the Wet n Wild "Coloricons" and the China Glaze "Prismatics".

Wet n Wild Coloricon Be Jeweled Spring 2012: Swatches

Hey there, yes I am so behind in my swatches, but the next 3 post are gonna be awesome!

Today I have the Wet n Wild "Coloricon Be Jeweled" Collection that was released earlier this month...maybe even  April, LOL! :) You can still find some at Rite Aids or other local drugstores, although Rite-Aid is the only place I've seen them.

Tomorrow I will have my swatches of the China Glaze "Prismatic" Collection, which is basically a dupe collection, except some colors are a bit more vibrant  and opaque in the China Glaze Collection... but we'll see that tomorrow.

Then after that I will have a comparison post marking the differences and similarities between the two, Sound good? Great! :)

Okay, On with the show...

Wet n Wild
"Jewels For Your Highness"
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

Light pink glitter with multi colored glitter. In the shade it flashes a hotter pink and  and bit of purple.

Wet n Wild
"Speak When Spoken To"
 2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

This is my favorite, it is a silvery blue glitter with multi-colored glitter. In the shade it shifts to pink and purple, super pretty!

Wet n Wild
"Born Into Privilege"
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

Super light green/gold glitter with flashes gold, yellow, blue toned green glitter, and lots of multi-glitter. In the shade, it switches from gold to green. :)

Wet n Wild
"The Crown Is Mine"
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

Silvery purple glitter with multi-colored glitter. In the shade is flashes pink  and too a brighter purple.

Wet n Wild
"Bow In My Presence"
2 coats, no top coat

In the shade...

A pretty teal blue glitter with tons of multi-glitter and flashes of purple and pink.  The flashes are noticeable in the sun and in the shade :)

Overall I'm happy I grabbed these little beauties. They were smooth and easy to apply, and were not very bumpy or clumpy.  Most of them were kind of thin for me, where you could see the visible nail line. :(  But the flashes of color on the nail in the shade, and indoors is soooo worth it. Definitely worth grabbing, or swapping for if you didn't grab them while in the stores. :)

Tomorrow I'll post my pictures of the China Glaze Prismatics collection :)

A pretty blue pair!

Happy Friday, I'm actually too exhausted to celebrate Friday. I've been hitting the gym hard in preparation for my summer trip to Asia.  I forgot how much more beef I eat when I lift weights consistently...chicken doesn't cut, nor does turkey or fish, but BEEF hits the hunger spot, EVERY TIME!  LOL!

Okay enough about meat, I'm getting hungry, back to the polish! :)

I wore this pretty blue combo last week, and it surprised me how much I loved it, since it was a last minute decision...I spend a lot of time thinking abut layering combinations, because once I do a combo, I want to love it, so I don't feel the need to take it all off and do another over again.

I did 2 coats of China Glaze "Shower Together" and 1 coat of Nicole by OPI " Nicole...Spotted".

I took the majority of the pics in the shade, since the pics in the sun were all "sparkle and shine" and no detail  :(

Yep, this pair was awesome! BUT.. and this is a tiny but, it left my nails a bit BLUE when I took it off. I knew the China Glaze would stain, so I made sure to double up on my base coat. So instead of leaving my entire nail blue, it left just the edges blue, I can live with that. :)

"Shower Together" is from the ECollection 2008, it is a bright turquoise blue creme, a bit sheer, so if you wear it alone, 3 coats my be needed.  "Nicole...Spotted" was from the Gossip Girl Collection from 2009. It is a tinted aqua green jelly base with glitter of all sizes...serious glitter whammy!

"Nicole...spotted" is perfect because when it is layered over another color, the base color still shows thru nicely.  The perfect blue pair! :)

Happy Friday!
