OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps Swatches and Review

"OPI launches Pure Lacquer Nail Apps for instantaneous manicures and pedicures created using precut nail strips made of 100% real nail lacquer – providing a high-gloss finish, long-lasting wear and zero dry time. Offered in both cream and shimmer finishes, Nail Apps are available in 14 different styles – ranging in design from edgy snake print and fishnet to feminine gold lace and floral."

Today I'll show you the "Reptile" print and it wad a lot of fun and super easy!

In the package there are 2 strips just like this one. The package is vacuum sealed, to make sure the strips are not dried out.  I like how there is a "pattern flow" between each nail, so if you wear each one in order, the pattern flows nicely between each nail. Nice! :)

At first glance I wasn't too jazzed about the color choice in the pattern, gold, browns and rose...but it worked out.

The strips have a clear film on top, that you have to remove and then peel off the strip and apply smoothly to the nail.  These are super sticky, so once they are on, they are not easy to adjust. Remover is the only way they are coning off. LOL :)

I used a base coat , but no top coat with these Apps.  Next time I will do a layer of a base color similar to the App so the sides are not as bare.

Most Apps do not lay smoothly on my nail, because they have a slight curve to them. So if I do wear a Nail App, I make sure it has a pattern, so you can not see the folds of the App as much.  :)

After they are applied, you file the app down along the edge and peel off the excess. That's it!

Easy manicure, and even though the tips suffered at the hands on my "mis-filing", it still is a great option and worth it if you are always on the go, or traveling and it took less than 20 minutes. Can't beat that!  :)

I have 2 more Apps  to try and will review in the future, aren't they pretty!!  Keep it Sweet!

"Pure Lacquer Nail Apps are available this month at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for the suggested retail price of $11.95.

OPI Announces New Limited Edition Outrageous Neons, the Brand’s First Neon Lacquer

OPI launches its first neon nail lacquer with the Outrageous Neons mini pack, including four limited edition neon shades, a neon white base coat, and OPI Top Coat. The four fluorescent hues include vivid shades of yellow, orange, pink and purple. The essential step for achieving the best results is to prep nails with one coat of neon white base, followed by two coats of neon lacquer. Colors dry matte, but adding one layer of OPI Top Coat results in bright, bold color with a shiny finish.

“Outrageous Neons marks OPI’s foray into the world of neon color,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director.  “In the US, the FDA requires that all cosmetic colorants be approved, and each batch must be certified for purity. The lacquers in this set are formulated with new, FDA-approved neon pigments for a look that’s dazzlingly vibrant.”
Along with neon white base and OPI Top Coat, the four shades in the Outrageous Neons mini pack include:

Ridiculously Yellow
So yellow, it’s beyond understanding.
Formidably Orange
Brace yourself for this powerful orange.
Riotously Pink
This pink has been known to create a scene.
Seriously Purple
I really mean it…it’s really purple!

As with all OPI nail lacquers, Outrageous Neons contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. This limited edition mini pack promotion will be available beginning July 2012 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $19.95 ($24.95 CAN) suggested retail for each mini pack (includes all six products).

Yep, it's that time of year again!  It's Prince's Birthday! Woo Hoo!!

Now I usually do a sweet manicure for his birthday, but I have been super busy, so here are some swatches of my frankens that I've done in the past, named after Prince songs :)

"Computer Blue"

"Anotherloverholenyohead"

"Party Man"..I have to re-wear this one, Seche Vite did some serious damage (shrinkage) to this manicure! :)

"Something in the Water (Does Not Compute)"

"Life 'O' the Party" (the black glitter)

"It's gonna be a beautiful night"

He is a pure musical genius, I love his level of creativity and musical honesty. What can I say I love him! :)

Happy Birthday Prince, I wish you many more birthdays and blessings! O(+>

Comparison: Wet n Wild Coloricon Be Jeweled vs. China Glaze Prismatic Chroma

Okay here they are side by side!

First, I matched up the colors to see which ones matched which, after that I compared them side by side, 2 coats each, with no top coat.

First up...
WnW "Speak When Spoken To" vs. China Glaze "Liquid Crystal"
2 coats, no top coat

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild

In indirect light...

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Not dupes, the WnW is much lighter in color, but the duo-chrome flash is much better on the WnW! Oh Baby!

WnW "The Crown Is Mine" vs. China Glaze "Prism"
2 coats, no top coat

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze

In indirect light...

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Not dupes, the WnW is much lighter in pigmented color, but the duo-chrome flash is a bit better than the China Glaze. These are close, but no cigar!!

WnW "Born Into Privilege" vs. China Glaze "Ray-Diant"
2 coats, no top coat

Left to Right: China Glaze, Wet n Wild, China Glaze, Wet n Wild.

Dupes! The WnW formula is thinner, but the colors, and flash are spot on!

WnW "Jewels For Your Highness" vs. China Glaze "Full Spectrum"
2 coats, no top coat

WnW "Bow In My Presence" vs. China Glaze "Optical Illusion"
2 coats, no top coat

Not dupes, the WnW is much lighter, but the duo-chrome flash is much better!

and then there was the last one, "Polarized", but since there is no Wet n Wild color to compare it to, I'll just leave you with this ...

LOL...The cheese stands alone! :)

So overall, I like the China Glaze colors because they are more opaque, and the colors in the glitter are more vibrant .....HOWEVER the Wet n Wilds have more of a duo-chrome effect, which makes them UBER nice for the price!

My suggestion if you have both? Layer the WnW over the China Glaze, you get the opaque coverage of the ChG with the added flash of the WnW on top....Oh Yeah!!!!

If you just have the WnW colors....no worries, do a coat of silver polish as a base, then apply the WnW...opaque and pretty!

If you have the China Glaze colors...no worries, they are gorgeous all by themselves...trust me!
