It's finally starting to feel like fall!

Finally the morning are starting to get colder and the air is feeling a bit more crisp, yep fall is finally happening in So Cal. After weekends in the 100's we are finally cooling off....Thank You Lord!

Today I have a fun dark green manicure with a little sprinkling of glitter reminiscent of fall leaves piled up on the front lawn.

I used 3 coats of ULTA "Green With Envy" and then topped the ring finger and thumb with 1 coat of Finger Paints new glitter for 2012 "Fall of Surprises!"....yeah, 1 coat. I love glitter that gives almost full coverage in 1 coat. This one is PACKED FULL too! :)

"Green With Envy", is a blackened green shimmer, that can leave behind some bald spots in 2 coats, so 3 coats was necessary to get full  and perfect coverage. That shimmer is gorgeous!

"Fall of Surprises" is new to Finger Paints for the Fall 2012 release. It is an amazing copper glitter that is almost opaque in 1 coat, and is loaded with multi-sized glitters. It tried fast and smoothly in a matter of minutes. You can get this color at Sally's and in fact I believe it is already being put on clearance and cleared off of the shelves.

Around this time of year fall polish collections come and go quickly, in a rush for the holiday polishes to arrive and be sold. Slow down people, enjoy fall and all of the lovely colors it brings...in nature and in nail polish , LOL :)

Enjoy the crisp air outside and keep it sweet!

OPI "Atomic Orange" with Finger Paints "Motley"

Yep! Motley is back! I swear I think it was the best flakie top coat ever invented. It looks great over everything, and this bright orange is no exception!

OPI "Atomic Orange" topped with 2 coats of Finger Paints "Motley".

I used 2 coats of "Atomic Orange" and then topped it with 2 coast of "Motley". I recently received "Atomic Orange" in a swap as an extra, and it was on my wish list, so I was super excited to see it in the package! I love swappers, they are so nice!!!

Atomic Orange is from the OPI Brights Collection, Fall 2006. A lovely red based bright orange creme, perfect for those bright summer months! :)

Finger Paints "Motley", well what can I say about Motley, it's awesome, it is a flakie top coat with blue and purple flakes.  Check out the manicure in the shade...

Love it!!!

Orly "Purple Pleather" with Finger Paints "Motley"

This manicure ,was a quick manicure I did before I headed to church, and I was amazed at how pretty it came out!

I started out with Orly "Purple Pleather" from the Plastix Collection in 2010.

Orly "Purple Pleather"
2 coats

"Purple Pleather" is a bright blue based purple creme that dries to a "plastic finish, which has a bit more shine than a perfect mate finish. Very rubber-like!

Then I added a quick coat of Finger Paints "Motley" to it. I would have done 2 coats, but I was in a rush to get going.

"Motley" was recently released this Spring by Finger Paints, and is part of a "flakie collection" that is highly sought after, for it's magical appeal! The flakies from this collection make every polish it lays over, a master piece.

Amazing, right? I can't wait to re-wear this manicure and do it with 2 coats of "Motley"...Woo Hoo!!!

Wow, so pretty! This manicure dried fast and smoothly, and after my last coat of Seche Vite, I was done! :)

Finger Paints "Grape Gumball" and "Pop Rock Pink"

Today is a bit gloomy, here in Los Angeles, so I thought I'd bring you something to cheer you up, or me up since I'm the one surrounding by clouds!

Today I have "Grape Gumball" and "Pop Rock Pink"!!!  These 2 colors are from Finger Paints "Gumdrops and Lollipops" Collection released this Spring at Sally's Beauty Supply. I choose these 2 out of the others, because they are the only ones in the collection that have shimmer in them, and I love shimmer!

Finger Paints
"Grape Gumball"
2 coats, no top coat

This color may be named Grape, but it has great sparkling blue  and silver flecks and with blue undertones as it's base, it sets it apart from the rest. This applied nicely, and smoothed out well in 2 coats, no issues.

Usually Finger Paint colors are clumpy and apply unevenly, but this one was not a problem for me. :)

Finger Paints
"Pop Rock Pink"
2 coats, no top coat

I usually do not go for pinks, but this is very pretty! This is a perfect pink for spring with a hint of coral in it's base. The shimmer is amazing as well, there are tiny flecks of pink that flash peach and sometimes blue too...oh yeah!

This a bit more uneven in it's application, but I was still able to get the job done in 2 coats.

Yep, these two stood out to me in the collection, but other colors people have been going nuts for are "Circus Peanuts" and "Choco Mint". Check them out at your local Sally's...if others have not already gobbled them up, LOL :)

Finger Paints: Special Effects Swatches

Today I have a swatches of the entire Finger Paints Special Effects top coat.  It was very hard for me to find all 5, in fact, it was so hard,  I did not find them..LOL, a dear nail polish friend on Facebook helped me out!

Thanks a million, Marcy! Not only was she able to grab all 5 for me, at the Sally's discounted price, but she also was able to grab me a cute teal clutch, that came free with the purchase, SCORE! :):)

Here they are...

Also, I am testing out a new watermark for my pictures. There is a lovely seller on EBAY.FR that is using my pictures to sell her polishes, not cool!! So after contesting her use of my pictures, TWICE, I am forced to watermark.  Let me know what you think of the watermark placement, all suggestions are welcome :)

I decided to try my new effects over a Finger Paints color I've had for ages!

Finger Paints " Cobalt Cardigan", a lovely marine blue creme/jelly, gorgeous with 2 coats and don't forget the slight hint of shimmer!

So pretty, but once you add 1 coat of the Special Effects, it's turns into MAGIC...

AWESOME!

Thumb to Pinkie: Twisted, Asylum, Flecked, Motley, and Flashy!

Finger Paints "Twisted"...My favorite!

Finger Paints "Asylum"

Finger Paints "Flecked"...My 2nd favorite!

Finger Paints "Motley"

Finger Paints "Flashy"

Love it! So yes they are awesome, and yes they are dupe-ish of other "fan favorites". So far this is what I have figured out:

Flashy is similar to SH "Hidden Treasure, "Nubar "2010" and other similar flakies.
Flecked is similar to CND "Limelight" and Nails Inc "The Wyndham".
Motley is similar to Sinful "Green Ocean", except G.O. has glitter too. Also Nfu Oh 40 is very close too!
Asylum is similar to Deborah Lippmann "Edge of Glory"...so I've heard!
Twisted is similar to Picture Polish "Festival" and the old fan favorite L'Oreal "Crushed Opal"

When I say "similar", I use it nicely, because some of them are dead on dupes..LOL. So if you can score these FP's do it, because they are way cheaper than the others...I'm...just... sayin!

Have a great Friday and remember, Keep It Sweet!
