He made the Bantam Gold playoffs...

Yippee! My nephews team, the Wildcats, made the playoffs, and as luck would have it his second playoff game is at my old high school. Now my old high school was no "football powerhouse  while I was there, so I hope my nephews team has better luck, than we did, LOL!!!

Here are 2 quick manicures I wore for his past games, their colors are dark blue, gold and white.   Emphasis on QUICK, LOL!!!

First up...

China Glaze "Ultamate Holiday" and NCLA "Venice Beach Vixen".

2 quick coats of "Ultamate Holiday", which dried quick and wasn't too gritty. Then I used one of my art brushes and painted blue squiggly lines down the accent nail. I wish my rush was thinner, so that the lines were more distinct, but I still like the contrast of the blue and gold :). Finished the manicure with 2 coats of top coat and it was game time!!!! :)

Check out the crazy sparkle of the China Glaze. This was an ULTA exclusive in 2011.

Next...

Barry M "Navy", and OPI Top Coat "Gold Lang Syne".

The Barry M, is an amazing navy blue shimmer that is perfectly pigmented and rich, and is almost opaque in 1 coat, so pretty!.  Then, I topped it with the OPI Top Coat, which is the perfect gold top coat, 1 coat of gold and that's all it took to take this manicure from pretty to FANTASTIC!

I loved this manicure and it caught everyone's eye, so pretty! :)

I don't know if I have enough time this morning to dream up another manicure, but if I do, I'll make sure to let you see it next week. Until then...GO WILDCATS and I love you NATE!.

Tomorrow is football day...

Yep, another day of watching my nephew and other 8-10yr olds play football!!!!  Since I have not decided what manicure I'm going to sport tomorrow for the big game, here is the manicure I sported a couple weeks ago.

I used the saran wrap method. If you are not sure what this is, here is a the tutorial I followed from NAILED IT.

American Apparel "Passport Blue" and China Glaze "Champagne Bubbles".

First I stated with 2 coats of "Champagne Bubbles "..

Can you see the bubbles? This is a very pretty Dijon mustard yellow shimmer with silver glitter. Dries fast and smooth, no issues.

Once it was dry to the touch, I painted each nail with 1 coat of the AA color, and used little balls of Saran Wrap and dabbed the top of the nail, until I achieved the right mix of colors. Then I moved on to the next nail, and ....

Because I used such a dark color on top, clean up was a mess! Definitely won't do this again with a dark color on top. Don't make my mistake,  I've seen this manicure done with lighter colors on top, and it is great!. :)

Almost has a tie dye effect, very unique! :)

Very funky... very easy, I love it!  Let's Go Wildcats!

Keep It Sweet and Happy Friday!

Football Season

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???  My nephew is playing in a bantam gold league this year, and his team name is "The Wildcats" and their colors are navy, gold and white. He is #35...woo hoo!!!

So of course, being the good aunt, I always have my nails done in his team colors every Saturday for the big game.

Here is the first manicure I did for their first scrimmage...

I used...

L to R: China Glaze "FYI", Color Club "Antiquated", Cult Nails "Time Traveler", Zoya "Snow White", and China Glaze Crackle "Tarnished Gold".

This was their first scrimmage, so they wore their scrimmage uniforms with their nicknames on them. Check out my nephews scrimmage jersey...

Their team is 3-0 now...they practice 2 hours a day Monday-Friday....oh yeah, all those practices are paying off!

For the China Glaze "FYI", I used my Nfu-Oh "Aqua Base" over my usual base coat, to make sure the ChG applied smoothly and evenly. 2 coats of the ChG and it dried perfect and smooth. This picture is with my usual top coat routine of OPI regular top coat and then Seche Vite.

For the Cheetah Nail I did a base coat of the CC and then hand painted with a dotting tool the cheetah pattern using  Zoya and the Cult Nails. My nephew approved of the cheetah pattern, he really liked it! :)

I really liked this manicure...can you tell? LOL :)

Stayed Tuned next week for the next "game manicure"...until then Keep It Sweet!
