My First Sponge Gradient

Hello! Today I will be sharing my first gradient manicure. EEeekkkk! :)

I was inspired by a manicure I saw on Lucy's Stash ,where the awesome and talented Becky, from A Polish Addict, did it using the same 2 Zoya colors!

I used Nfu-Oh #52, Zoya "Charla" and Zoya "Zuza"

I started with a base color coat of Zuza, then with a makeup sponge I painted a line each of Zuza, next to Charla. applied it with a couple dabs.

Then I followed-up and applied the Nfu-Oh flakie directly to the tips. :) Unfortunately you can barely see the flakies, but the dark base of the Nfu-Of still complimented the manicure nicely.

I loved this manicure and the colors were awesome!  My nails were way too long for me, so after this manicure, I had to cut them down, not a lot but enough to operate like a normal human being, LOL! Check out my thumb nail...

Eeekkk, it needed it's own zip code :)  After all my layers were done, I topped with with my normal 2 coats of top coat and I was all done.

Nfu-Oh #61: Old vs. New

Yep, I grabbed an extra bottle of #61 when it was re-released a couple months ago, and I was so happy to grab an extra, but when I got it I noticed something different!?!

The holo, wasn't quite the same. Here is my old bottle on the left, and the new bottle on the right.

Old on the left, new on the right.

Old on the left, new on the right. The new brush is wider and makes applying the polish much easier and faster.

Old, new, old, new.  I layered each 3 times using the Nfu-Oh Aqua Base between each coat. I actually had a harder time applying the older version.  The newer version seems to apply smoother and I had fewer bald spots with it.

Old, new, old, new.

Old, new, old, new.

New, old

New, old.

There is no denying that the older version has more of a rainbow linear holographic effect, but both are Fabulous!!!!

Happy Friday!

Nfu-Oh 52....that's all!

I love Nfu-Oh just like everyone else, and when you use it in layered manicures it awesome, but what about on its own?

I decide to use a nude base and just #52 and the results were awesome, simple, gorgeous, and lovely!

1 coat of Sally Hansen "Cinnamon" and 2 coats of #52.

I used Seche Vite as my top coat because this manicure was so thick I needed to make sure it dried nicely and quickly.  Seche Vite did cause some shrinkage on my tips and around the top edge, but it dried the polish nicely.

Purple jelly with green and blue flakies...lovely!

Gorgeous, and for the record since this manicure I have done my "winter cuticle treatment" and my cuticles no longer look like I've been digging in dirt...LOL! :)

I wore this manicure for 4 days, and I dreaded taking it off, it was so pretty! :)

Did someone say Silver Holo??

Here they are...all my silver holos, ready, set...SHINE!

No top coats :)

Thumb: OPI D.S. "Coronation"- 4 coats
Index: Color Club "Worth the Risque"- 3 coats
Middle: Nfu-Oh "61"- 2 coats with a coat of "Nfu-Oh aqua base" in between.
Ring: GOSH "Holographic" 2 coats with a coat of "Nfu-Oh aqua base" in between.
Pinkie: Essence "Glam Rock" 4 coats

I definitely agree with everyone when I say that I think the Nfu-Oh and the GOSH are the best holo, but seriously the worst to work with.

Next in holo shine would be the Essence followed by the OPI, and then the Color Club.

In these pics the Essence is really blingy, it delivers the shine, but was a little difficult to work with and gave me drag when I layered the 1st and 2nd coats.

Overall the OPI was the best to work with , no complaints!  :)

Have a great day!!!

My purple mermaid

"Mermaid scale", "glass flecked" nail polish is all the rage now and Zoya's "Mimi" is my new favorite purple, a perfect purple mermaid in a bottle.

2 coats and 1 coat of Seche.

Deep purple scales, dark and delicious!

After 3 days I wasn't ready to say good bye, so I gave Mimi a little kick!

1 coat of Nfu-Oh 51....gorgeous!

What makes flakies better?...add glitter...love it! But beware ladies, this manicure was a pain to remove....P.I.T.A.

Nfu-Oh #61

My first attempt at #61 was horrible, it didn't smooth out, it dragged, you name it, it happened!

But after I did the layering suggested by Lacquerized HERE, "How to: Make your manicure last"...I was good to go.

Here is Nfu-Oh#61....AGAIN!

I did the following:

OPI Nail Envy-Matte
Nfu-Oh Aqua Base
Nfu-Oh #61
Nfu-Oh Aqua Base
Nfu-Oh #61
NO TOP COAT!

The manicure lasted 2 days and then started to chip, but it was all worth it!!!!

Oh lord, just looking at these pics again, makes me want to put it on again!

Okay, so this was my first holographic from Nfu-Oh...which one should be my next Nfu-Oh holographic purchase??
